Poor Voice Quality LG 900G on Net10

Trying to help out my sister here. She has a 900G that sounds like she is calling from 10 feet under the surface of the ocean. Seems like a decent phone for the money otherwise.

Are there some service codes to enter to bump up the audio codec? I could not find any in the consumer menus. On other phones I've had the chance to fine tune this has done the trick…bumping up the codec for reduced compression...

Thanks for your suggestions. No it's not the phone or service as far as I can tell.

Maybe she got stuck with a bad fone. Or maybe she is stuck on a marginal network ( tmobile) that doesn't get good reception. A lot of different things may be the issue
trying to come up with better signature.......

I have a Tracfone Motorola W376G and a Tracfone LG 290C. Anybody know if I there are ways to increase the codec bitrate/quality on those two phones? The W376G already sounds fantastic, but I'm curious. The LG 290C's voice quality is sometimes problematical, so it'd be a help there. But do CDMA phones even have the capability to choose codec bitrate, or is that only GSM phones? And can either of these two phones allow this via code entry of some sort? If so, what are the codes? And is there any downside, like the carrier getting angry with you for increasing your data rate, and cutting you off as a result?

Thanks for satisfying my curiousity, if anyone knows answers

I have a friend with the LG 900g on Net10/AT&T, and his audio (transmitted) is definitely not the best. I tried to get him to swap the phone out, but he tends to drag his feet when it comes to the hoops one needs to go through to get electronics straightened out sometimes, so he kept it. With a good signal and no noisy environment it's okay, but it's not what it should be, and that's based on just knowing the sound of a lot of cell phones. When he's in his car you really struggle to hear him over background noise, whereas his previous Net10 phone (LG 220c on VZW) had awesome audio, although the service could not work well for him at home, which is why he switched. You always have to be ready and willing to swap out a phone if basic attributes aren't up to snuff. Little things come out wrong in electronic devices all the time.
