Transfer problem with MP4 video format into N-09a

Hi,

Original video was from Youtube in FLV HD format, however after formatting it in MP4 - AVC (H264) resolution 640X350 ( I also tried 480x854 ) and install it into my N-09a I have sound but no picture, under CH and going into " i motion info" I see that the display size shows 0 X 0 although I used with Format factory the resolution 640X350. Why don't I have a picture? I went to the right folder ..e.g. renamed it to e.g. MOL015. Thanks

You should try the two possible types of encoding - H264 and MPEG4. What software are you using to convert? Recommended are HandBrake and OjoSoft Total Video Converter - I have these two and have successfully converted MP4s to play correctly, although my phone is Sharp, but it's still DoCoMo.

Then, you might want to consider an easier way to transfer files to your phone - if you have a USB-DoCoMo cable of course. If you do, there are two programs that make transfering files very easy and you don't even have to rename the files as they are automatically renamed but you can still see the original name, both from the phone and from the computer. Try SDUP and docomofilemanager.

Thank you for the speedy reply. I am using Format factory version 2.60...works very well with Samsung phones. I am using always the same mode of operation and have many times transferred video's on my N-09a and N-08a but this time surprise it does not work..wondering why? I have USB-DoCoMo cable. Are the programs you mentioned free? I will try it and inform you, tks again.

There you go. There are two versions inside the ZIP - one for MAC OS and one for Windows (it's what I use).

Got Handbrake but what are the settings you are using? When I converted the FLV file in MP4 it became a M4V file !! and N-09a can't read it. Tried again to use Factory format could only covert into mobile device AVI HD ( H 264) 640x360 but not in MP4 HD AVC (H264) comment said failed to download, not compatible. Could it be a copyright issue? I tried about all possibilities, mostly I can find the MODXXX file in SD but when I go to communications and try to find the file MODXXX only sound but no picture. SDUP I can't download in VN ( here also no twitter, facebook etc..) has an error jumping up and Ojosoft downloads only 20%, has to buy the software. Docomofilemanager I could download but how do you drop the FLV file in SD-Video? and will it convert to MP4 by itselfs? I am getting desperate and will have to wait until I'll go to Singapore I guess.

Hi Cheeseus,

Good News....PROBLEM solved with Format factory...make sure that the downloaded file e.g. from YouTube is in an FFOutput file...after converting it with FF it will appear there too....then rename it and switch on your keita connect to PC change setting to SD and go to F drive than SD-Video and drop down the newly named file in PRL001 after your phone downloaded it you can see it "-1" when that it is done then change to MOLXXX. My mistake was not having used from the start the FFoutput file... I guess my experience will help many members. Small oversight can cause big problems :C . They say with SH-07B you have to download many times...I just got my SH-07B repaired in JP ( anti-CPR hypersimcard was stock in the tray). Thanks for your help !

Oh Yes I forgot the most important issue when converting from YouTube with Format factory use MPEG - ACC - 2 CH and N O T AVC (H264) that is the reason why no picure but only sound, so guys use MPEG !
