Mine is boxed and back in FedEx's hands today for upgrade. Will let everyone know when the upgraded unit comes back...

I never rooted mine, but I followed the directions for backing up and doing the factory reset personally. Shouldn't be a big deal to re-install my purchased apps and just upload my settings again when it returns. I figured it would probably make their job easier to complete so I would get it back faster.
I got confirmation from Moto that they received my Xoom already and tracking details are available on their website. Here's hoping that means this should be a quick process.

I got my Xoom back a few days ago with LTE and the initial activation didn't happen automatically as the instructions said, so I called Verizon and the lady said they hadn't programmed my SIM card into the account. She did that for me and after a reboot and about 60 seconds, it found 4G briefly then went on 3G, cycled radio a few times and always 3G. We agreed I would watch it for a while and see if 4G came on. I sat it on my desk and I looked at it a half hour later and it had locked onto 4G ever since. Guess the provisioning still took a little while.
Now it's working good. Speeds are blazing. Speedtest.net app shows I'm downloading 10.1 Megabit/sec and ~7 Megabit/sec upload on 1 bar at my house!
Okay, now the bad news. I decided to test the stability of streaming and fired up a 30 minute episode on Youtube in HD. It took 600MB of my 1000MB monthly plan to watch that episode! DOH!I had already used a couple hundred megs so I'm now into overage territory on my monthly plan as a result. Guess I won't be watching HD unless I need some crazy cool video while on the go. Haha.
