Followed the steps listed on the forum & got some help from a forum member with setting up my sammy infuse on ST & it works like a charm!

so i cant talk my sim card out of my straight talk lg 420 g and put in an unlocked iphone 4 that i just bought for that reason..

Nope. Only the phones on ST listed on the first post have unlocked SIM cards. Those are Nokia E71, 6790, and E5.

i have taken the sim card out of that phone and put it into an old iphone and it showed at the top of the screen that the sim card was inserted but i couldnt do anything on the iphone cause the screen is messed up like i couldnt press any button on it

That is not a smart phone. We've posted here quite a few times that the only ones that work are the Nokia E71 and the Nokia 6790. Now, most recently, the Nokia E5 works as well. That's it. The others have locked SIMs.

when you say locked, does it mean that you cant take sim cards out of the phone?

It means that the SIM card will only work when placed into the phone in which it was originally installed. It is an electronic lock and not a mechanical lock. The lower level phones lock the SIM card to the phone while the Nokia smartphones lock the phones to the SIM card. In the latter case, you can use the SIM cards in other phones but you cannot use other SIM cards in the Nokia phones.

Ok, I have been working my butt off on this thing for ST and infuse. I've read all I can find with regards to infuse and ST

I cannot edit apn type to "supl" but I have no choice to change it to "default,supl"

Can the guy who helped out the last infuse user send me a PM and give me a hand?

Where home should be I have an orange sign with exclamation in it, a signal meter with a ? in it and a half frozen circle loader. wtf?

I do have voice but that seems to be all? Shouldn't it register HOME at the top left?

Just use one APN and leave the setting at default. Also this may be a stupid question but did you reboot after inserting the SIM? Additionally my Inspire doesn't say HOME in the upper left either. That is where the icons for certain apps that are running in the background show up. It does say home on the screen when my phone is locked. The circle loader is the sync for FB, news, and other apps.

Thanks for the reply. Im getting sms and voice but no data except wifi. I did reboot but full restore fixed orange error. When you say one apn do you mean del the mms one or merge the two? thanks

OK OK, so by default I went with the first choice which was basically all three choices in one and it worked! Thanks for the help! I am now getting data without wifi.

Basically everything else cleared up when I restored the phone.
