Anyone notice this on their Torch? Actually, this happened on my 9780 before, so I assume its not device related. OS6 related maybe?
Problem is this: whenever I download a file on my BB, whether I'm in the browser or in App World, the download goes like this: download a few KB, stop, clock symbol appears, download resumes for another few KB, stop again, clock symbol, etc.
Downloading a typical 1 MB file can take a long time because of all these pauses. What the he** is wrong with these new BB devices?
It's nothing to do specific to YOU or the network you're on or its speed: GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSPA. This is the very NATURE of Java MIDP2/2.1 or CLDC1.1 JVMs or devices based off of this as a core OS kernel.
CISCO 7962/7965 phones when receiving updates or major configurations out of the box during deployments do the EXACT SAME THING = downloads are in KB chunks ... not a full data stream!! Its as if a "checksum" is done for each packet before continuing. a SERIOUS annoyance and 1 MAJOR reason why RIM is having a tough time with internal execs and external developers - evolution is SLOW and demands are ever growing and changing. IT still has the corporate spear - but as challenges resolve issues and implement new features their grip is slowing loosening.

I see. Thanks Prom1. So this happens to everyone who has an OS6 device?? Doesn't this drive everyone crazy?? How come I never hear/read about it? This is unacceptable for a 'modern' phone. Is there nothing we can do to fix this ourselves?
