Obviously, this is not the ideal way to fix a phone.

Here's what happens: It will suddenly go dead. Pushing the power button will produce the Sanyo logo for a few seconds on the screen, then it goes dead again (each time it's happened, the phone had a charge and/or was plugged into the wall charger.)

We've done the take-the-battery out trick already. I know nothing about Sanyos. Any idea of what's going on and how to fix it?

(The first two times it happened, SIL didn't realize that it only re-started after it was dropped. This time, we kind of ... dropped it on purpose, and that did the trick ... so it might be some kind of loose connection somewhere inside the phone.)
