Try instead the LG Optimus One from Telus (Canada), unlocked. If you can obtain one it is much more likely to work, and it's feature-identical to the Phoenix. But neither this nor the Phoenix has Flash capability even though they do have YouTube.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 (a foreign Android with the right bands) was reported to work, albeit at slow speeds, and it definitely supports Flash in-browser.

The list says: Orange Motorola Flipout (Android , not Att, unlocked). It does not say AT&T Flipout. Nobody has tested an AT&T Flipout. And the Orange Flipout doesn't have AT&T 3G.
Rogers Canada released a Flipout at some point. It *might* work, as AT&T might know know the IMEIs, but it could also be just a different batch of the same model which means AT&T would recognize them.
Anyway the Flipout is a pretty underwhelming phone.
A new alternative for phones that WON'T work with data on this plan...
H20 Gsm , an mvno which runs on Att prepaid's network just introduced its new 250 meg pack of data INCLUDED with their $50 unlimited talk/text/mms plan. Att's smartphone version of this plan is $65 for unlimited talk/text/mms and 100 megs data. This isn't 500 megs like Att's maximum data package plan for its Gophone smartphone plans and is nowhere near unlimited but it is just the right amount for many moderate data smartphone users.
I highly recommend this plan for those who do not want to pay extra to Att and still want to get their ANY Att smartphone onto a plan with decent data amounts without any ban or guesswork.
Unlimited beats the heck out of 250 megs but Fifty for unlimited everything plus a quarter gig on a smartphone beats the heck out of fifty bucks for only talk/text/mms but NO smartphone data which is currently what Att offers.
Att's just given its mvnos an edge, the first in a long time. I hope this increase in data spreads to the other mvnos very soon.
Still keep testing the smartphones. Unlimited data is still hard to give up...

I've also heard that if you buy a Nokia E71 or 6790 for Straight Talk (very specifically these models, nothing else), you can activate their $45/month unlimited text/talk/web plan and then move the SIM into other smartphones - even the iPhone. The end result is unlimited everything on the AT&T network. This goes against their terms and conditions but it doesn't stop HoFo from making a thread about it:

True I suppose the ST devotees justify it by saying that they save X dollars a month compared to getting the same on AT&T, which pays off the $200 in short order.

I believe I read in this thread that the palm pixi won't work? If not either way an AT&T rep assured me it would work with the unlimited data on this plan.
LG Thrive Android and Palm Pixi Plus (Gsm/Att) are both reported failures. Web OS is now on confirmed list of non working devices for data.
Please keep posting smartphones that do and don't work with the feature phone unlimited everything including data plan ($50). So far, YES: Palm OS (classic), Windows Mobile (original), Foreign/non Att Android, Symbian 3.
NO: Att Androids, Iphones, Blackberries, Web OS, Symbian 60 (Two samples).
? : Samsung Bada. Windows Phone 7. Foreign examples of phones on No list (except Android).
Keep testing, keep posting. Data working or not, we'd like to know.
Recommendation: Windows Mobile classic phones . Cheap. Plentiful. Have Att 3G capability. Still supported.
How can LG Thrive be reported as non working? Isn't it officially sold by AT&T GoPhone?
I just wanted to make sure I get it right: I won't be able to use data on international, unlocked (bought in Europe) iPhone 3G on $50 unlimited plan, even after I change APN setting, right?
