Phones like the (Bell) Desire Z, Desire HD, etc will work on this plan. Those phones are not flagged by AT&T as smartphones on their $15 dumbphone data plans on the contract side, I wouldn't expect any different in this case.

Love to see confirmations of the above . Thanks.
Offer still stands that if someone has a SIM with this plan on it in the Bellingham - Seattle - Portland corridor, I will test my CDN Optimus One on it next time I'm passing through.
And every Canadian network of the Big Three has the iphone (3G and later on Bell/Rogers/Telus).
Wow, I can't beleive the LG Thrive doesn't work on the $50 plan. ATT's website could not be more unclear.
I guess it's boost for me.
It says clearly on the website that one must pay extra for data for smartphones. The LG Thrive is a smartphone.

It was not obvious to me that a "data package" is a separate entity from the unlimited plan. I thought the unlimited plan would come with an unlimited data package.**Smartphone users: You may use your smartphone on all GoPhone plans. A data package is required to use any data services on your device. Pay-per-use data is not available on smartphones.
EDIT: I suppose it does say it more than once on the website to be more clear.. but I am not sure it always did that..
What's unclear about this?
- $50/Monthly Unlimited plan includes unlimited talk, text, and access to Internet, email, social networks, and more! (Smartphone users must purchase a separate data package.)
I'd like to see the iphone on here, any version.
Certain smartphones may work (Non Att Androids) and others may not (iphones of ever stripe) on the postpaid side. I would like to see some more confirmations based on SilentJudge's (logical) theories.
Any international iphones and Canadian/foreign Android testers, keep posting.
We could use more samples of Symbian 3 and Windows Phone 7 which have only one confirmed example each (S3 Works, W7 doesn't. )
fonefonz made the ruling that all WP7 phones would not work in post 208 here:
http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...1#post14501281
However, no Canadian or European WP7 phones have been tested. My suggestion to readers is to look at the results of the actual tests instead of fonefonz's often over-generalized rulings.
I don't think fonefonz was making those statements towards phones from international carriers.
Intrnational phones from other carriers (ie Bell in Canada) except all iPhones have good potential.

To Jet1000. I pointed out at one time that we need more samples of Symbian 3 and Windows 7 because of lack of more tests (single test each) . Yeah, I'm making general statements but there are no facts to disprove them until more tests are done which is why I always ask that if there is more test results/data on different OSs to post. No ruling is final and everything is subject to change as we discover more.
Judge is right about the international phone part. If it has a smartphone OS and has Att 3G channels but is not Att (from the US), then it has a pretty good chance (generalized statement here) that it would work. Again, however, it will in reality either simply work or not. Androids prove that there are some phones that work (foreign and the Backflip) and others that don't (All other Att Androids). This Att and international phone doesn't work/works schism could also be available on other OSs. We don't know but whatever works works and whatever doesn't doesn't and will be listed as such.
Unfortunately most Att compatible 3G phones in the States will be from Att. Lol.
Hopefully we will find more samples of all OSs that do work.
Again, rulings are all subject to change as we discover more with every new test.
Complete data listings, make/model, carrier, country of origin, OS and whether activated directly or swapped from dumbphone would help greatly in clarifying things.
Keep posting.
Does Verizon have an Unlimited Text and Data plan on their prepaid smartphones?
