Confirming that my unlocked T-Mobile Motorola Cliq2 is working on this plan. My unlocked HTC Sensation and unlocked myTouch 4G slide however do not work with 3G, (EDGE only). AT&T must be using the 850 band here in the DFW area.
Does anybody have the unlocked SGSII on this plan. I just want to make sure if the Unlock European SGSII will work. I understand the SGS2 can pull HSPA+ speeds and I may need to be on a post paid "4G" plan but 3G will be fine for me, esp, with this prepaid price. I also want to know if it works, how much data do they really give before they take notice of your account. Is 2GB the limit?
Updated: I been reading threw the forums and apparently the SGS2 does work but with slower speeds. I remember reading at another forum that ppl with the unlock SGS2 on ATT postpaid couldn't get 4G speeds, rather they were getting 3G speeds. So they had to get a imei # of ATT 4G phone to get the right speed. Since the SGS2 is receiving slow speeds for some reason, is it possible that it's because ATT does not have a imei number of a 1st phone that is suppose to be on the account in the first place.
Then maybe once they have a imei on file from a firstphone then the SGS2 will establish full 3G speeds. can that be???...
The SG 2 unlocked intl version should work fine with this plan with full unlimited but throttled (3g) speeds.
Other non Att unlocked Androids with Att compatible 3g/4g channels have been proven to work. Again , with slower then postpaid/contract Att speeds.
If it's too big a hassle, I highly recommend the Att mvno alternatives coming up. For $60 you can get unlimited talk/text/mms/data on H20 gsm (with a throttle after 1-5 gigs) unlimited t/t/m/2 gigs capped data on Red Pocket and coming soon unltd t/t/m/1 gb data on Air Voice. They all run on Att and they all support 3/4g on Att phones and can use Att devices without unlocking in many cases.
They have other advantages too like international minutes are included in all of them.
I stopped promoting this thread because a real alternative came out in their form. It's much easier to just activate and pay the ten bucks if it doesn't work. However, unlike the mvnos, Att gophone, though overall slower then contract , appears to be truly unlimited.

Also wanted to note that I could NOT use the hotspot feature on my Cliq2 with this plan, but when I put the sim card in my unlocked T-Mobile branded Dell Streak 7 everything worked except no phone service of course. I turned the hotspot feature on and was surprised that I didn't get that warning like I did from the Cliq2. It was throttled but still faster than the Cliq2 because the Streak is 4G.
Anybody have the correct apn settings for the SGS2 on the AT&T $50 Go Phone plan. I activated service using a Samsung Solstice II Imei # but only talk and text works. The E, 3G or H+ does not show at all.. Is the loophole dead or something for this phone?
Update.. OK never mind.. got it to work.. but the speeds is below horrible.
In Brooklyn NY I'm getting, 0.05Mbps-0.80Mbps. My t-mobile flexpay sims card in the SGS2 i was getting 0.01Mbps-0.15Mbps with edge. Now I'm thinking is it really any difference.

This has been reported by others with a international SGS2. Around 0.1 to 0.5mbps.
Its faster if you buy a data package.

lol . Yeah, pay $25 for 500 megs (with rollover) for higher speeds and guaranteed smartphone data or take a chance on included 3G data that's unlimited for a lot slower.
The h20/Red pocket/other Att mvno heavy/unlimited $60 usage plans are easier and faster as an alternative. They will give you a middle path. The speed of the Att Data packs and the quantity of more then 500 megs.
It's been tried with unlocked Australian Android (has Att 3G channel) and works if throttled (still 3g though). Results with Canuck smartphones should be the same. There's always H20 for ten dollars more, guaranteed to work.
mmor101 was referring to iPhones from Canada. It won't work, AT&T has the IMEIs for all iPhones.
Other smartphones from Canada such as the Bell Desire Z, Bell HTC Sensation, and the International SGS2 will work however.
