Smartphones on new $50 unlimited everything plan including data. Which ones work?

My Nokia N9 works fine on the $50 All You Can Eat plan.

I have read back over a dozen pages. Does anyone know if the Lumia 800 will work on this plan as well? I'm thinking of getting one.

Its unlocked, but does it support the att 3g bands? No one has tried wm7 yet, but give it a shot for the good of the forum!

CONFIRMED!!! Lumia 800 works on this plan so far but the data is slllllooooowwwww. Way slower than my N9. Seems to be gprs speed

I just got it so i havent messed with the settings yet. But...I got this phone cheap on Craigslist from someone who got it free at SXSW and he threw in the PURITY earphones!

Will an international unlocked new galaxy nexus work on the 50 plan? Att doesn't have the imei. So do they allow foreign imeis to use ..is there a hidden cap/

Ok, so I have had done a few tests so far trying to figure out what will be the best most efficient plan for me to go with in the long run. I have tested 2 phones, a nokia n9 and a nokia lumia 800. I ran 3 sim cards on these two phones over the last month. Maybe the radio in my n9 is better but it consistently got higher speeds than the other phones running their respective sim cards.

There was no universal speed test app for these phones so I used mobilespeedtest.com
What I did find was that the speeds were all over the place!

N9 speed on left, Lumia speed on right(speed in kbps)

Turns out the best card for me right now is the At&T prepaid with smartphone add-on because of my At&T banded phone at the moment.

The T mobile prepaid is a close second. It probably would have been #1 but my primary phone right now is the Lumia 800 and it was only getting 3G on the newly refarmed 1900 band so it was really inconsistent.

The one I wanted to be #1 ended up being the worst of the lot. The At&T $50 all you can eat plan with dumbphone data sometimes spiked and gave a good speed but was REALLY INCONSISTENT. More often than not was giving speeds of under 200k. If it could have even hovered around 1000k I'd probably have picked it.

Oh well just wanted to share that with you guys.

1. BLU STUDIO 5.3 - really Big Screen, but cpu speed slow... (Automatic APN setting)
2. Dell Venue - High-resolution camera (8 megapixels), buy AT&T version, not T-mobile version. (Automatic APN setting)

Under $350
1.T-Mobile LG myTouch(T-Mobile phone) - need to unlock

Under $400
1. Samsung Galaxy S Blaze(T-Mobile phone) - need to unlock

Best pick of mine is Samsung Galaxy Nexus GT-I9250 (I bought it from Google $399 plus shipping and tax, so total $432.18)

And got a Go SIM and added bought the $50 plan -- and DIDNT CARE about the unl data (or any data for that matter) --- Would I still be ok with the unlimited calling / texting / and of course, WiFi based data ??

That should work fine. It takes a micro-sim, which is the same as a regular sim, but cut down. You can do that yourself with a cutter, or buy it from AT&T in store I believe. I'd personally buy one off of ebay for $2 and cut it down myself. I purchased a cutter off of Amazon for $5 and it works perfectly. http://www.amazon.com/Micro-SIM-Cutt...6307608&sr=8-1

But I have one funny thing I did not report above.
That is about USED non AT&T brand smart phone.
The USED means the phones used with T-mobile service, Simple mobile service or H2O service.
Even those used phones are unlocked, my data service is blocked and I need to purchase and add Data Packages.
so, I guess AT&T recognize those used phones as smart phone.
I tested used Samsung Exhibit II 4G(with T-Mobile service), used Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant(with Simple mobile service), and used Samsung Galaxy S i9000(with H2O service).
I put my AT&T $50 unlimited sim card, my data service is blocked and I need to purchase and add Data Packages.

BUT, I tested all Brand New Unlocked phones no problem.....

Has anyone tried the AT&T HTC TITAN Microsoft phone? Im on the 50 dollar plan. My text and calls are working but my data isnt.

i tried several APN settings but no luck. I also tried the Connection Setup app and no luck still. I power off the phone everytime i changed the APN settings and even after i tried the conection setup and still no luck.

So has anyone had any success with the HTC titan? if so can you please tell me how you made your Data work?! thank!!

I just read through MOST of the 2012 thread posts here, so please forgive me if I'm asking a question that was answered in a previous post. I have an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100 (purchased from Bell Canada). From the information I read here, it seems like it should work on AT&T's prepaid $50 unlimited plan.

My question is, what's the best way to go about getting a prepaid SIM? Can I walk into an AT&T store with my i9100 and purchase one, or will they require me to add a data plan to use 3G because my phone is technically a smartphone?

In another forum on this topic it was recommended that you take a 3G enabled dumbphone into the AT&T store with you when you attempt to purchase a prepaid SIM and the $50 unlimited plan for use with a non-AT&T smartphone. In that same thread, another person recommended going in with no phone at all and simply telling them I left my dumbphone at home.

I'm willing to do either, however, I'd rather not buy a used dumbphone if it's not necessary, and I'd prefer not to lie (not that I'm beneath lying, I'm just not that good at it). If anyone has any suggestions on this (based on personal experience) it would greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, and kudos to all that supported this thread.
