This was a great and fun plan back when it came out but since byod on it changes and other plans have come close or caught up, it's no longer the bomb it was earlier this year. I'd say go with the Straight Talk or Net10 Att plan which has almost no gsm byod issues or even Red Pocket or other similar Att mvnos with 2gb data plans for $60. It was a lot of fun but as OP, I consider it kind of passe . Playing pea and shell with your phone can get monotonous when they keep changing what phones are allowed and aren't.

Could be me, but seems they are flagging non-at&t Android devices now. Tried a HyperSIMed Japanese Sharp and an unbranded Samsung Galaxy Nexus S, NG on both. As everyone pointed out, it was fun while it lasted.

There's a lot more alternatives now. Net10 and ST are good ones at equal/lower prices and no byod limits on smartphones (except Blackberries). Also, the Att mvnos are upping their data and/or lowering prices.

But it seems that compared to MVNOs, you worry less about data going out due to moderate to high usage on Gophone.
The plan will still continue to work on featurephone, right?

Data on the $50 plan DOES work on the Xperia Pro... for now. I'm sure now that AT&T will sell the Xperia Ion, all other Xperia phones from Sony will be flagged as smartphones too, and the party will be over soon.

Could you please post your APN settings? I have seen so many gophone apn settings with different entries, I do not know if I have mine entered correctly. It would be nice to know if my Note with the generic imei is being filtered or if I have a bad APN.

    Thanks

Do you get a webpage saying you need to purchase a data pack? If so I believe that means you are being filtered. Otherwise you may have the settings wrong.

Well I plan on sticking with it as long as I can seeing as I am pushing ~15gb this month and no issues.

It will be a year in july. I was the first one to test the nokia N8 on this plan and strangely got missed in the purge on the N8 back in February. Although this is the first month I have went over 5gigs but i have been without internet so have been using my phone for everything internet related.

I have a 4G sim right now in the 4S, idk if that's the issue? Or should I run the regular 3G one?

I'm in the middle of no where South Dakota. I'm gonna go into AT&T and talk to them because I think the problem is the sim that I have.
While im not the middle of SD, I am on the I90 corridor. I tried Straight Talk but the service shuts down if I get 5 miles past my zip code. This cannot happen as I travel for business 100 miles + in either direction. I have an Infuse, and I want a GSM carrier that won't screw me like ST has. Anyone care to chime on this?

Would it be wise to sign up for this?
I would probably use about 5GB a month.
Most likely with a Xperia Arc.

Does any one know if an unlocked Samsung Exhibit II 4g originally sold on Tmobile will work on this plan? How about a Limos 710? Thank you.
