No, I'm switching to AT&T partly because the Xolo doesn't support T-Mobile 3G. The guy I traded the Meizu to is using it with an AT&T Medianet plan, so apparently AT&T doesn't have the IMEI in their system.

Ok i have been looking around for a carrier, checking things out. I think i'm going with at&t. I had a nokia e5 given to me, and i was wondering if it would work on the $50 unlimited plan? Also i here to get mms working on a non att branded phone you need a app to change the settings. Is this true? Ok i guess symbian s60 don't wonk.

From my understanding and experience any non att phone seems to work on that plan all you need to do is change the apn settings.

I'm looking at getting a China white label Android. Big 5.3 screen sucker with Att 3g channel. I believe it would work as it has a non USA imei number... We'll see.

The Naite is not a smartphone from what I've seen.

Anyone else successfully get smartphones on the new $50 unlimited everything plan including data? Not old plan, not $2 a day plan, not talk/text only $50. THE $50 UNLIMITED EVERYTHING FEATURE PHONE PLAN. Thanks.
I am kinda late.. should have read that earlier.
Anyway, i know that my Nokia E75 worked with the $50 Plan with no problem. I recently bought the Motorola Atrix (which i like) and now i have to pay extra for data. So a turn off.
I might be able to make adjustments (less voice) but i am looking for alternatives in the prepaid sector. Or maybe if you run it just with 3G and no HPTS (or whatever that was).
    I am newbie with Androids

You could try h2o 25 plane which is an mix of talk text and data that might work for you.

looks like the jig is up. coming back home from the middle east with my international galaxy S2 I tried the plan and get the medianet page asking for money or a data package. sucks because now I am stuck for a month with voice/text only, would be a waste of $50 to go straight to strighttalk now....

I wonder if unlocked generic China Androids would work? Att's been continually responding to this loophole anywayso this isn't completely unexpected...

hopefully they dont emulate any of the imei in the states. I think att now uses an online database to search out imeis because i can search mine online and it comes back as the i9100 g2. they must do it on the network level because the att operator couldnt tell what phone i was using

Maybe if you plead with a CSR, they could switch you from that $50 to $25 voice + $25 data for no charge?

I'm testing various apn settings and I can not get above 3000kbps. Swap sims with Net10 and I can get almost 7000kbps, that is about the same as I get with my ipad data sim. But then Net10 does throttle like it's sister ST. Anyone have any Gophone APN settings that are getting higher speeds? Cost wise NET10, ST and GoPhone all cost me $45-$46/month. How is roaming on Gophone?

Sorry, I meant the fastest speeds I have seen are 3Mbps.
