Hi Guys - Stumbled upon this website for making your own ringtones from music on your computer. It is fabulous. In the past I have bought ringtones from Trac - which you have to download on your phone. Sometimes I didn't even get the ringtone, but still got charged. Have been using for my LG800 and then putting them in the Sound folder on the SD card - works great ! !
For the LG500G every second counts to get that perfect ringtone so I use audacity because it is the best free mp3 editor out there. It does look intimidating, but after a while, you'll get the hang of it. I've used it to lengthen certain tracks and cut out the parts that I don't like. I used to use that site you recommended, but I also like doing things offline so I now use audacity.

Dont think its hijacking at all. You're on topic. Somewhere I read that 30 sec. was the max length for ringtone, but with the LG800 that seems to be too long.
So most I'm using are 27 sec.
I was just happy to not pay tracfone for them. Even after you BUY them, you can't transfer or send to another phone. Thats if you are lucky enough to actually get the ringtone.
