Exchange TBolt for Bionic, or another TBolt?

Ok so i got my Tbolt from the Winback department at Verizon for 199$. I opened it up, and i activated everything etc.

As soon as i took the plastic off the screen, i noticed a white speck under the screen, DAMNIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything works fine, but i do have a VERY noticeable speck under the screen and i don't know if i can exchange this phone at a local corporate store???? Is there anyway to get rid of this particle under the screen? It's not a dead pixel, it's an actual white speck of something, looks like **** lol.

My other question, let's say the Motorola DROID Bionic comes out, would i be able to exchange the phone i got now for it??? I do use it for tethering i hope the new Bionic does this.

I would call up vzw and (nicely) demand a new one as a replacement, not a refurb. You paid for a new phone in new condition, not a blemished one that was blemished out of the box and out of your control. Tell them that you will return the phone and cancel contract if they don't rectify it.

Of course you can exchange it for the Moto Bionic...... if it comes out within 14 days of your purchase date. Which is your only Exchange/Return period.

I don't know if it will be coming out within the next two weeks so perhaps you may want to go get a feel of the other two 4G LTE devices VZW offers and see if one of those are up to your standards if the ThunderBolt is not. I did not like the TB and actually left VZW because of it and now have come back and enjoy the Droid Charge quite a bit.

I've been looking at the 4G phones and have come to the conclusion that the Charge is the best option at this time. I'm not really a fan of TouchWiz and I know about the other launchers available. How's the call quality been on the Charge. And how about battery life?

Call quality is good and the battery life is the best I've seen out Verizon's current Android lineup.

Charge has the best battery life of the new 4G phones. Thunderbolt and Revolution? Not so much.

I can't speak for the Revolution but I have the Thunderbolt and the battery life is really good with the extended but you have to buy that separately.

Outgoing call quality is great and I actually seem to have a better signal with the Charge than I did with the ThunderBolt. But as far as incoming call quality, I think there is an update that needs to be issued because sometimes the speaker sounds tinny or robotic like as numerous others have reported across the internet. It's not that bad and doesn't happen all the time but it is noticeable from time to time.

I'm not the largest fan of TouchWiz either and there are some instances in which I wish they would have left stock Android apps alone, but oh well. The calendar app, the application drawer, and the virtual keyboard on TouchWiz are all worse off than on stock Android (Gingerbread).

The battery life seems to be great seeing that I always keep my Charge on CDMA/LTE. We have a large 4G LTE coverage area here in the metro Atlanta area so I take advantage of it. If you were to keep the Charge on CDMA only you would probably do even better than I. My phone always last throughout my work days and weekends with around 15 - 20 % to spare, but I do a ton of surfing, use Rdio whenever in the car, check Pulse and Mint.com apps frequently, and use other apps from time to time including SlingPlayer, RunKeeper, and FaceBook. Battery life seemed to be better on my Nexus S 4G, but I always kept it in 3G only mode since Sprint's 4G network is like swiss cheese in metro Atlanta. I only turned it on when needed and it burned through battery life just like any other 4G WiMax based phone when in use, but had a nifty little sleep mode that worked very well when the 4G connection was not active.

One thing I was worried about was how fast GPS locked in and if it was accurate, seeing that I need it to work for Navigation and RunKeeper on a daily basis. Coming from an iPhone 4 and a Nexus S 4G I expect any other phone to lock in quickly and be extremely accurate. Glad to report that this is the case on the Droid Charge! I have had no issues with GPS in any apps that I have used.

The one thing I hate the most is the charging port being on the side of the device, but I guess Samsung did it like this so when the phone is plugged into its dock, sold separately. I prefer both the headphone jack and mUSB port to be on the bottom like the Nexus S line, that way I don't have wires sticking out all over the place when utilizing my phone for music playing and charging it at the same time.

The screen is absolutely stunning and beats even the Nexus S I just got rid of. It'll be even better to see Super Amoled Plus with a higher resolution in future devices.

Not to mention that it adds a considerable amount of weight and girth to the already thick device.

I like the TB's ability to talk and surf at the same time on 3G, but that's about where my positives end for it. I couldn't see myself stuck in a contract with it for 2 years. But I doubt I will keep the Charge for 2 years either.

Does the charge allow talking and surfing on 4G only?

I believe so, haven't had to test it out in 3G only mode as Verizon has expanded LTE in my area to cover every area I'm in.

From what I understand, only the Thunderbolt supports simultaneous voice and data over 3G. The Charge and Revolution only supports it in 4G areas.

I am so undecided at this point. I had a Fascinate and I swore I wouldn't get another Samsung phone again. Now here I am trying to decide if I should get the charge or hold out.

I can definitely verify that the voice and data work simultaneously on 3G on the TB. I often force my phone into 3G only to save battery life and I sometimes surf on the phone while I talk.

Have you (or anyone else) ever used the voice and data simultaneously on 3G in an area that does not have 4G? I am wondering if it is somehow picking up something from the 4G side even if you have it set for 3G.

This is what leads me to ask the question http://www.hamiltoncaptel.com/mobile...hone_selector/ as I am currently carrying two phones and using Hamilton’s Web CapTel rather than Mobile CapTel to be able to make calls when out but not around WIFI.
