    New Gingerbread Update coming

Just got word that there is an update coming for Gingerbread. It's probably going to address all the issues people are having, and is going to be version .602. We should see it within 2-3 weeks.

I'm having no problems at all with the OTA .596 version, but many others are having a lot of issues. Curious to see if this will fix them all, or create new ones.

If this update really comes in 2-3 weeks, I wonder if the other Droid GB updates will come around the same time. It would make sense if they worked the bugs out.

If it doesn't include a bootloader unlock, I'm not excited.

What I know is that 2.3.3 is getting upgraded to 2.3.4 ... not much else, BUT, VZW is in the process of rejecting all new FB builds from Moto until they get their acts together in Schaumburg and Plantation. I posted on this here: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...omewhere-on-it

I highly doubt anything will be coming out anytime soon.
    I left NEXTEL because:
    1) Gary Forsee for single-handedly killing the mighty NEXTEL
    2) Paul Saleh for coughing up the money for Gary's BIG ideas of grandeur from the NEXTEL cash cow
    3) Timmy Donahue for taking his golden parachute and leaving post-merger when we needed him most
    4) Barry West for regressing iDEN backwards 10 years by killing 6:1 and WiDEN development
    5) Dan Hesse for practicing apathy over sympathy, then prolonging the pain

I, myself, and not having any issues at all with GB. I'm completely stock running OTA GB. But there are many many people who are posting all their problems on the other Droid forums.

This update is going to be approx. 10mb, so it's just a patch that will fix bugs and stuff, and you will only get it if you are on stock OTA .596.

After I did a factory reset, I'm not having any problems with GB either.

I was having a few (the Dialer would quit dialing out, wallpaper would be messed up after taking it out of the dock), but those were fixed after a factory reset - probably just a messed up config file somewhere.

    Sounds cool.

Hopefully the rest will get GB.

I've been experiencing charging issues since I upgraded to .596. Some times I plug the phone in and it just doesn't charge the battery. I've been on vacation and I attributed that to charging via a non-Moto adapter, but I had the same problem last night. It was plugged into a Motorola multimedia dock powered by a Motorola wall wort and the battery was at 0% this morning. That's actually surprising since it was below 15% when I put it in the dock last night. It must have gotten some power from the charger because it lasted until this morning when I heard the "beep boop" as it shut down.

I've also had a couple UI lockups that required that I pull the battery to regain control.

I'm wondering if I need to do a factory reset or should just wait for a bug fix release.

I think that 2.3.3 is getting upgraded to 2.3.4 ... nothing else, however, VZW is in the process of rejecting all new FB builds from Moto until they get their acts together. I dont think there is anything coming out any time in the near future, sorry......

Last word I got was that this Update .602 was in the testing stage and with any hope we could see it within a week or so. It was delayed due to some extra work being needed, so the initial time frame was blown away.

We'll see an update, just not sure when.

New GB update .602 is now available via OTA.

It's supposed to fix some issues with the original GB update, so it's only an 11mb file.

Check for an update, and it will be there waiting for you.

Now after the download and install, I'm getting the green led blinking every 3 seconds. This is something new. It never used to blink before the update.. WTF?
