While overseas, Verizon global sim card + unlocked AT&T iPhone =?

Hey, I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4.

I'm going to Europe in a couple weeks and I was just wondering if I could take the global sim card from the global phones VZW sent me and put them in the iPhone.

I obviously don't think that would work in the USA but will it work once I am in Europe and can connect to one of their GSM networks?

    Thanks!

From what I have heard, AT&T doesn't sell unlocked iPhone 4s and never has. Do you mean, the recently available unlocked iPhone 4 from Apple? The iPhone 4 uses a micro sim. You would have to cut the Verizon Sims down to fit the iPhone 4. It would be easier and probably cheaper to buy some pre-paid micro sims when you get to Europe.
Q: Would you patronize a streetwalker?

A: No, I would treat her as an equal.

Maybe his AT&T phone is jailbroken and that is how he unlocked it?

As others have said, you would need to cut it to microSim format. I can't think of any advantage of doing this apart from keeping your US Verizon number while abroad. The new data rates are really bad. As Doolie says, you will save a lot of money using local SIMs.

Jailbroken iPhones are not hard to do. But I agree it would be a lot cheaper to do that, and use Line2 App for calling/text over WiFi. Can cancel when done.

Jail Broken is not the same as unlocked, but as some say, it is easier to get around carrier locking, depending on the baseband.
