Yep... they probably realized they wouldn't be able to handle all of the people on the smartphone plans and Metro's nonexistent spectrum... so they probably canned all the other phones and said " NOPE ...THIS WILL BE OUR BEST PHONE... RELEASE IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS "
OLD! That's been there forever. It does say November 2010, because that's when they did their first tests with the phone. I believe Bryce was also the Codename for Revolution, and it could have been for that version.
It's already been said that the phone is ready for a mid October release.
This year for LTE, it's going to be the LG Bryce, which could be renamed the "Esteem" (Mid October) The Samsung Chief (November), Samsung Tikal (December), and HTC Wildfire S (end of Oct/early Nov.) due out this year on LTE, with the ZTE Arthur coming out April 2012. All to have Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Then there's a new name that popped up, the Huawei Wind (R920) no known release.
This year we're also getting some new BREW phones, such as the Kyocera Presto (replacing the Domino) and the LG Cosmos Touch (named Beacon for Metro)

Maybe not. But how about 4 LTE Android phones in 2 1/2 months?

Wow, Metro is really back-loading their release schedule.
They promised "5 or 6" LTE Android phones in 2011, and they said after the first one in Feb/March (which was the Samsung Indulge), that the remainder would come in the 2nd half of the year -- with one LTE Android at mid-year.
IF this schedule you've outlined stays in place, then Metro will at least deliver the minimum promised number of LTE Androids in 2011 -- but all will be in the very last quarter of the year. That's 4 LTE Androids in 2.5 months -- at the very end of the year. Well, can't say you don't have your Christmas shopping list!
So, there WILL be a total of FIVE LTE Androids in 2011? -- but looks like the promised "mid year" Android got pushed back and lumped in the with the others.

Since the HTC Wildfire S is currently in release as a GSM phone, I assume they will swap out the GSM chipsets, adding CDMA/LTE in place.
BATTERY: 1230 mAh (for LTE they better put in a BIGGER battery! My Optimus has a 1500 mAh battery and it's not even LTE.)
Checking the specs (and here's a review) of the current HTC Wildfire S (non LTE) in release, it's an Optimus-sized phone with Optimus-type resolution and Optimus-speed CPU and RAM (600 MHz CPU, 512 MB RAM). However it does have a 5 megapixel camera WITH an LED flash... It's just ironic that of the upcoming LTE Androids, the LG Bryce/Esteem is more HTC-like, while the actual HTC phone is more like an improved LG Optimus! (except the Optimus has a 1500 mAh battery, which is better than the current 1230 mAh Wildfire S battery. Hopefully that will be rectified. )

Your creed may be interesting, but your deeds are much more convincing.
I would love for the Wind to be a renamed Ascend X. that thing is amazing!!!!!!!!
edit: also the phone replacing the Domino is going to basically be a domino but with a Camera.
Couldn't have said it better myself, very great analogy:

You had to have a new color TV to receive the wondrous color TV shows.

I did not see the 2010 im SORRY for that but i really hope they realease the phones like Kayfabe12 schedule says it will so i will buy the samsung chief and leave behind my samsung messenger 1
Well ChazzMatt, you totally just answered the question I had - which phone would be the phone of this year? I guess it looks like the Bryce would be the phone to get? You made the HTC sound like it wouldn't be as HTC-like as normal HTC phones xD..

"3.2-inch Super LCD display with HVGA resolution (320 x 480) and a 5MP camera with LED flash. A 600MHz processor is powering the phone, and it offers 512MB of RAM and ROM."
But except for the 5 MP camera with LED flash (Wildfire S) vs 3.2 MP camera and no flash (Optimus), I have those specs already on my LG Optimus. It will be an LTE phone, yes. Whereas my Optimus is not. So, it's an Optmus-type phone but with LTE, and better camera with LED flash. And weaker battery, unless they upgrade that before releasing it as an LTE phone...
But I think I'm going to upgrade to bigger screen, faster CPU, and more internal memory with the LG Bryce/Esteem.
