You're quite right, the plan pricing is out of whack for most people unless you're a business person. Hopefully, the marketing team will revise it downwards so us mere mortals can afford it!
It's crazy. Rogers used a lot of streaming video to demo how awesome their new network. But the thing is streaming video uses a ton of video and their plans are completely inadequate to handle more than a few hours of video.

If you can get close to a LTE cell site and run tests from there. Remember depending on witch site you are running the speed test may vary on your results... I personally use acanac speed test. I get better results for some reason. I get peaks of 10mbps with my htc desire hd on Fido network.
TELUS, Rogers/Fido, SpeakOut, 3, CSL, China Mobile, au by KDDI, Travel SIM UK

Fellow HC,
You are right... it is like a niche product (if not a novelty one) for now.
elmirix,
Greetings.
Surely if one has a direct line of sight with the serving site / BS in closer range, then the outcomes should be more impressive. However, even if it gets 73.9Mbps Downlink like with the controlled testbed demonstrated by TELUS recently, Rogers' pricing would not be ideal even for early adopters / geeks.

But pricing is expected to be high at launch, after all, it is a niche product for now.
This is more of a business tool right now IMHO, I don't think many regular joes have a need for this product, no matter how much you think you need it...

True, but at the launch event Rogers was touting how it's great for watching streaming video; both TV and Rogers on demand. They also had xbox 360's to show how great LTE is for gaming.
Anyways I'm guessing eventually LTE and HSPA pricing will align but for now, since no one else here has released their LTE network Rogers will charge a premium.
Looks like you have unlimited data on LTE based on video at 1:18... I'm sure we'll never see that again
Personal Plans:
Plan 1: Wind Mobile $35 All In The Family 2011 - Unlimited: Canada-Wide Calling, Data, Text and Picture Messaging, Global Text, CID, CF, CC, VM
Plan 2: Wind Mobile $20 HAITF Infinite Laptop - Unlimited Data
Rogers offers first two months free overage "fix" to hook the LTE subscribers up
Oh ya hahaha forget about the temporary free overage.
$45 for 1.5GB of data is absurd regardless of speed. At 1.5GB, do we exactly need LTE speeds for basic usage since I know I wouldn't be downloading larges files especially at those flex rates. Sure there is a premium for being first, but atleast make them reasonable rates.
