I wasn't fully confident on the 4th, just saying it was a 50/50 chance since it's not been listed in InfoManager yet.
Now it may be Sept. OK.
Anyone surprised? Not me.

Those are some bold claims from Sanjay there. Sound very similar to the ones about the LTE tablet. We'll see if Bionic can preserve his word. Samsung has been holding their cards VERY close to the chest on the SGSII USA launches so far. Doubt they would be any more likely to let Sanjay in on their plans than they would the public interested in their wares.
EDIT: BTW, why was he also bragging about having 3-4 more post-Bionic/Xoom Dual-core LTE products by the end of the year for?? Kinda suggests he knows these first two aren't good enough. Seems like a waste of development moneys to push 5-6 six devices against around half that from Apple. 3 or 4 devices(Tablet, premium Slate phone, premium keyboarded(this is just for me, but not really needed), and affordable LTE) on VZW would be a plenty for LTE devices.
at this point may as well sit back and use what you got cause you no by the time middle of sept gets here there will be at least two other high end phones to choose from . a smart person would just wait till all the big names release there stuff and see how they stack up and what problems there gonna have . of course i'll be first in line to buy the moto ...... i said smart people would wait.... lol
I agree with others who have said that all of these August dates being thrown around are all speculation. I think the last thing someone from Motorola actually said about a release date was "summer." So if we had ignored all the rumored crap we've heard the past few months, we wouldn't be so anxious/now angry about a September release date (I'm including myself in that anxious/angry group). On one hand, rumors are awesome because it helps keep us excited about the phones we want, but on the other hand they can be just as detrimental. Either way, the Bionic is still my top phone at the moment, unless by some miracle a Galaxy S II with LTE gets released at roughly the same time.
I always figured it would probably be released in September, based on the fact the only "reliable" info we have heard was "Q3". "Summer", and "2 months after Droid 3".
But, I'm as excited and anxious as anyone else and hoped it might drop a bit sooner.I'm just glad we have some kind of a date so people can maybe relax a bit, Although, people are already thinking Sept. means 9/1 and maybe online a week or 2 earlier, LOL.
Personally, I am just figuring we will see it sometime in the first couple of weeks of September. I am still planning on buying it when it drops, although I will be checking out what else is coming in the reasonably near future. My OG Droid has been good to me, I just updated to Gingerbread 2.3.4 oc @ 1.3GHz. It is pretty awesome and seems to be running well. So, If the Bionic turns out to be THE phone to get, like I hope and expect, I'll pick one up when it drops!
Yea....summer was the last release date officially mentioned. And 2 months after the Droid 3 was mentioned by folk(s) with inside info on here.
Why do some of us doubt the info they graciously give us??? lol
I said I might as well wait til next year if it comes in Sept.....but something might make me wait for this phone: Moto making their own LTE chip.
Winston or somebody in the know....is there any truth to that?
Well I'm personally not getting a new device til around christmas season, so I'll wait and see what comes up. Hoping for a 4g phone with 720p resolution...
With the delays, I wonder if the Bionic will be a letdown.
As has been said, smart people might wait until a few dual core LTE phones are out and reviewed. I do not think I can wait too long, since my D1 is starting to show its age.
Never mind about the LTE chip thing. Its popping up left n right that that was one reason for the delay:

And I will take a guess thats why the Xoom doesnt have LTE yet.
Still would be nice for some of the reliable folks with inside info to chime in.... if they can......
That article is slightly more detailed than others I read. So, if I read that correctly, Motorola decided to delay release of Xoom LTE upgrades and the Droid Bionic in favor of producing their own LTE chipset rather than use the Qualcomm that pretty much everybody else uses. Hope it works well for them - really surprised that with how they continue to hurt in the profits arena that they decided to make such a decision. He's right, it's the better thing long-term for them to do but they're going to have to really start pushing hard to make up for lost sales over the coming months.

It might be a better long term solution as long as sales will go up enough to compensate for the money spent on R&D. Isn't there a reasonable chance that they will lose some market share?
2 books 1 phone and I'm guessing 2 internet cards.
