Why would one even think it would launch within 14 days of the Bionic? Rumors are pointing towards a possible October release at this point, so at least a month or more from the release of the Bionic. If anything, it will be released even later than that, and certainly not any sooner.

I'm thinking the Prime and Bionic are for two different types of people. IIRC, Webtop is a Motorola thing.

If the Bionic main feature is its ability to be a mobile platform out the box with mouse/keyboard functionality, AKA a mobile office phone. Wouldn't that make Primes main feature ICS, and a pure Google experience. I doubt it will have Webtop (if the above is true) although it may feature HDMI out.

Did any of the other nexus devices feature docs that supported external accessories besides a TV? If not, the Bionic could still fare well, as well as the Prime as each would cater to two separate groups.

Glad I have 2 upgrades available...Bionic for a month, then give it to the wife to replace her Incredible while I rock the Prime.

If it does end up being a Droid branded phone, it will likely show up at Costco then. So, I'll just buy the Bionic on the 8th at costco and if the Prime shows up before December 8th (90 days) I'll exchange them if it's worthwhile.

I'm just not going to wait any longer to upgrade my OG Droid. Use is becoming flat out painful due to the memory limitations.

I plan to do exactly this as well. I'm also slugging along on OG Droid that I got on release day in November 2009.

Its NOT going to be Droid branded, and it won't make October Release, itl be out November/December, I'm going to be doing the same as you but I might wait a but just to be sure the prime will be in the 90 day window.

Here we go again.........

I held off using my upgrade on the Thunderbolt in June for the Bionic. Now people are talking about holding off on the Bionic for the Prime. I'm sure right before the prime is released, a better phone will be announced....If I keep waiting I'll never have a new phone

getting the Bionic next week

If it isn't Droid branded as BGR suggests that it will, then I don't expect it to come to Costco and therefore won't be available to exchange within 90 days.

Regardless, I'm buying the Bionic on release day. I've waited too long for a high spec phone as it is and there will always be something new coming out.

Yes. The Bionic has a sensor that you can use to have the device lock when its placed into a pocket.

There should be zero reason.

In fact, I'm expecting it to be the first phone that doesn't ship with ICS to be upgraded to it since only it and the Droid 3 are using OMAP4. It should be a relatively easy port since OMAP4 is rumored to be the dev platform for ICS (actually, it may be beyond rumor at this point.)

As does the Droid 3, the Droid Pro, the Droid 2, the Droid 2 Global, the Atrix...

Since it's been a standard feature on Motorola phones for a year or so, I'm sure the Bionic will ship with it. It's not a feature that works very well though. It often causes more issues than it solves.
