Unknown user lock code on LG vx9600, how do I hard reset?

I have an LG vx9600 that has a user lock code on it, is there a way to reset/wipe the phone without knowing the code?

If you use QPST you CAN find the lock code This is all I can say tho as discussion of that program isn't allowed here.

    Easier than that:
    Dial ##program9600 and hit send
Enter the SPC/MSL which is 000000
    Enter Service Programming
Set Nam1 MDN/MIN to 5555555555 (or any 10 digits of your choice)
Save and exit - phone will reboot
Lock code is now 5555 (or the last 4 of your number)

Ok, while the method I mentioned works. Please do as Steve says (Its probably easier for most and doesn't require a computer or cable) I have went back to Motorola and have been away from the LG's for a while.

Yeah, QPST definitely works. Also remember that any Verizon feature phone will default to the last 4 of the phone number when the NAM info is edited.. so *228 would do the trick too if the phone was active

    Thank you, Steve.G

I used your steps to edit out our personal phone number contained in "My Name Card" in the Contacts app on an older LG model that we had to return to the seller.

Also, just for fun I wanted to share a third solution for identifying the unlock code when the phone is in the factory default settings condition. But this solution might only be applicable to newer phones that use a 14 digit HEX MEID. I successfully tested it on a recent LG model (VX8370) after resetting it to factory default settings.

"NAM2 LOCKOUT MEID HEX # SOLVED. (Covered with a SAMUNG ROGUE)"
    http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...AMUNG-ROGUE%29

    excerpt:

THIS IS HOW YOU FIX YOUR PHONE: Your first step is going to be to find a HASH CALCULATOR such as HashCalc. Step 2 is simply to ensure that you calculate the SHA-1 for the MEID HEX number located on the back of your phone under the battery. When doing this ensure that you are inputing the data as HEX data. Take the last _6_ characters from this calculated sha-1 sum. You will use this to find your unlock code by adding 80 in front of those to get something that looks like 80XXXXXX. This number you will enter into the Windows Calculator (OR any scientific calculator that can conver HEX to DEC) As stated from here you enter this 7 digit hex code into the calculator and select the DEC radio button afterward. It will convert the number to decimal format. USE THE LAST 4 OF THIS NUMBER TO UNLOCK YOUR PHONE.... THIS IS YOUR UNLOCK CODE.
