What is your average data usage (smartphone only)

Since VZW no longer have unlimited data, I think it would be a good idea to start a poll. I know I went overboard on the choices

I've only gone over 1GB once in 11 months of owning my Droid X. I barely watch stream any videos on my phone. Pandora once in a while though.

Verizon says 95 percent of smart phone user use less than 2GB. I bought my first android phone and I think I'm going to average around 2 to 3GB per month.

I think the problem with this entire argument is that with the ever increasing ability to access more websites and data intensive operations through the internet, that the idea of using only 2gb will laughable soon. Wireless carriers have been encouraging and customers demanding ever more availability and capability of data usage; so now that LTE and other 4g services are slowing spreading across the country, usage is going to surge. Wireless carriers are drooling at their coming opportunities to start sucking our wallets dry as consumer growth in voice usage plateaus or even shrinks while data usage goes viral. So any poll taken of today's usage will only be a snapshot of early enthusiasts and as out of date as a black/white photo very shortly.

That's probably a fair statement. As the early adopters are joined by non-smartphone users who upgrade, data usage will only skyrocket. The early adopters will only increase their data usage as new apps are introduced... while the non-smartphone users who upgrade will get their first experience of what a smartphone can really do. The new smartphone users, however, will also have a billing meter running.

It's hard to say. And should I vote on me personally or my family plan line usage?

I have 3 personal phones and they are all android data devices. In total its 5GB+ per month.

Now with one of them being 4G, that one has used 3GB so far and I have barely done anything.

And Netflix is now on the android marketplace, so that might make me use more.

I was thinking the same thing... Between MLB, MobiTV, and now Netflix, I can see some decent data usage developing.

I use about 5 gigabytes per month on 3G but I was recently on a trip for a week with 4G and ended up using about a gigabyte a day browsing YouTube and other stuff like that so I'm glad I have unlimited data

There should be a more than 300GB option...

    Verizon's 4G network.

I live in California, not New York. I actually dislike New York.

Sure, it's possible. When I use my AT&T data card as a primary connection (traveling, etc.) I do more than that with them. I'm trying the unlimited LTE hotspot out this month instead of the AT&T connection, and here is the usage as of today.

Even so, it doesn't compare to my Sprint Overdrive's usage. When I lived at my house that got Sprint's 4G service, I was using roughly 50GB per day.

I don't know which is more impressive...
your mobile data usage OR the fact that VZW hasn't throttled you yet...

    (written tongue-in-cheek!)
