    Porting Gingerbread to Motorola Triumph

Guys as you all know Triumph is based off the Huawei X6 line of devices. And it seems that many phones in that series have gotten Ginger bread roms (2.3.4). For eg

Cherry Mobile Magnum HD got Gingerbread officially. The ROM for the Cherry Mobile version is at http://www.cherrymobile.com.ph/downl...lugin=WPv1.2.1 . The instructions to install it on Spice Mi 410 (another X6 variant) is at http://androidos.in/2011/06/install-...ei-x6-variant/

And here is a video of Spice Mi 410 running Gingerbread http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zmj7W...feature=relmfu

Here is another page where instructions are given for getting Gingerbread on Cherry Mobile Magnum HD A400, Spice CSL Mi 410 – Slim, WellcoM A99 and CSL Blueberry Mi 410 http://dkgadget.com/install-android-...-spice-mi-410/

So given that that 2.3 rom seems to be installable on many X6 variants, perhaps some talented dev can port it for Triumph, I guess all it requires is that radio part of Triumpoh should be preserved. Most of the other hardware like 1 Ghz CPU, 512 MB RAM, capacitive touchscreen with upto 2 simultaneous touches support, 2 speakers, etc seem to same across the variants.

Another interesting note all the variants have FM Radio working, so if we get a custom ROM hopefully it should work on Triumph as well.

I have read at other forums the MT is only a cousin of the X6 NOT a true re-badge so be careful when trying other phone software! Coming from a Intercept I still remember people using Momentum stuff and bricking.

There is no confirmed FM radio in the triumph. I've even read that there is no FM chip in the triumph. You can't just magically get FM radio, you need the hardware. People who have rooted and brought up the FM radio application haven't had any luck and simply get static. The antenna for the FM radio should be connected to the headphones out, in which it simply uses the headphone cable as an antenna.
