I don't see much of a difference at all between any of the VM android phones. They're all very average. But, I don't mind as long as it gets me through the day (which it does).

I browse the web and Facebook all day, and I get a full day of power.
True, there is nothing exceptional about the VM Android phones. Some are better than others, some are cheaper than others, Larger or smaller in size, larger or smaller screens. And a variety in manufacturers. Nope nothing exceptional. But there is a variety building here that gives customers a choice, a growing choice.
And that is what we are looking for as VM customers. Once the MT has the bugs people are reporting worked out, and the Optimus Black hits the shelves, and WOOHOO if that rumored HTC shows up, Virgin Mobile will have one of the best selections on any PAYG list.
Unless of course another provider is also working this hard to build a good product list.

Also any new news on these extended life batteries? And are they guarantied not to blow my phone up?

Install Advanced task killer from the market and set it to med kill and set it to auto kill every hour. All this will help save your battery. After all is said and done I can get through a day with the same battery power left in my MT as I would have had in my OV.
Advanced Task Killer IS a battery KILLER! As are all task killers as they have to constantly monitor processes themselves. Anyone who doesn't believe me just uninstall it for 1 day and witness the extra 30%-60% battery life you get from one charge.

I was speaking about a difference between the battery usage between phones, and you know that. There's an obvious difference between the phones themselves. You don't know how happy I am that you own that Triumph

Automatic task killers will kill your battery life in Froyo and later Android, because the newer versions actively cache applications to keep the memory full. As soon as the task killer runs, Android will just use more battery re-caching apps.

ATK with its default settings is pretty harmless. When an app misbehaves, I don't want to sift through screen after screen, looking for which one it is. One quick kill and my phone is back up to its full potential.

The only people who should use task killers, should know how they work. That's the problem with them.

I don't know about an extended battery but I just ordered the New Anker 1500mAh Battery for Motorola Triumph ML-M071 FB0-2 FB02 for my Triumph. Can't wait till it gets here and I can see what improvement it makes. I will give a full report once I have it. Cheers.

Isn't the battery in the triumph already 1500mAh? If so, no improvement.

You also need to know how your apps work. Some apps will automagically restart after being killed and it becomes an ongoing (and battery draining) battle between them and your task killer.

I would recommend a monitor program that also allows you to kill individual tasks when they become unruly. I use NextApp's System Panel but I rarely use it for task termination. Android has gotten pretty good about managing memory.

I'm a pretty heavy Android user, so the phone bogs down enough for me to need the app (as opposed to hunting down the problem maker through Settings) but it's not on the common app list any more. Unless I get out the Intercept and need to run Opera, lol...

Seriously though, even memory notwithstanding, a 3G watching app does much better. JuiceDefender.

Well my battery came in yesterday and I am happy to report it looked very well made and is a perfect fit. I can also happily report I now have power through out my entire 12 hour shift. So for me it made a great improvement. Probably what Moto should have put in it to begin with. But that's probably part of why we got it for 300 bucks. Here is the link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Anker-15...#ht_4560wt_969

Well it's good to hear there's an extra battery, even if its name is New Anker... whatever that is. My old Triumph (the one I be returnin') actually has a battery that seems to be falling apart. Probably my fault but you know :>

Anybody "bought" a battery from VM?
