What do you mean you did PRL flashing through CDMATool's website? You have to use DFS.

By the way, can you check at Settings > General > About and click on the Carrier tab, it should show what PRL your phone currently has installed. If it says 2004 that's the older 2008 PRL that MetroPCS uses for all flashed phone over the air and if it says 302x then it just means your area does not have 3G service. It's more likely the contrary however as I can see that Dallas, Texas is a 3G supported area. You just haven't flashed the PRL.

To use DFS you have to pay $100 by the way, it's not going to let you do anything without doing so.
If you don't want to get internet yet and just want to flash your custom PRL, just use the file-system method I described a couple posts ago.

Ok quick question for hellojustinr. I hate to ask this question because i think i already know the answer. But anyways my friend has an old AT&T iphone 3g and she swears that she knows a metro guy who says he can get it working with metro. Impossible right? The 3g uses GSM and it needs to be a CDMA phone correct?

So has there been any recent updates or development in getting data to work on our CDMA iphone 4's other than purchasing the expensive $100 cdma DFS tool?

Actually, yes. Rich Hathaway from CDMA Gurus is planning on releasing his new tool soon.

    http://cdmagurus.com/pda-smart-phone...#axzz1zjgnJzPj

It's not free but he says it will be a lot cheaper than the current DFS solution. He estimated it would be somewhere around $50 per flash. He also stated that it would be a lot easier to use than DFS with a much more simplified user interface where you can have everything working right there and then.

To be quite honest though, the $100 fee DFS charges is not all that bad. With the savings I made switching from Verizon to MetroPCS, I saved a lot more than the $130 ($30 for the ESN add) I spent just setting it up. The license is transferable to any computer and you can reflash the iPhone to any carrier. It really depends though, I guess in my situation, I think it was definitely worth it.

Oh ok. So your saying the DFS tool for $100 actually adds the ESN to metros database for you? IF thats the case then its definatly worth it.

Oh no, haha I wish, that'd be worth it. No but I think Rich Hathaway is planning on packaging something like adding your ESN automatically to MetroPCS's database with his software.

That's why I added the $30 on top of the DFS $100 charge, $100 for DFS programming and $30 for adding the ESN from a third-party (on eBay)

To be quite honest, I never tested that out, I saw that somewhere on CDMAGurus but I could never test it otu because I didn't have International Texting on my plan (I have the $25 unlimited everything plan).

From what I've seen, I don't think the method works. On the forum I read it at, they said it would send you a REG:xxxxxxx something something text message where it will activate it for you, but according to other posts on this forum here it never worked, so yeah.

the new cdma iphone tool will be out in the next couple days, however it will be a beta release, meaning it will flash t-t-3g to any carrier by inputing your min, mdm, sid, and user and pass,it is a simple interface, not overly complicated, the novice can use it,also i will put up detailed instruction,as for the autoflash feature,i am still working on carrier bundles for about 40 carriers worlwide, and i will make one for metro w\mms as well.the problem is it takes alot of time to build them and as i am not in all these markets i must rely on others to test for me and that is a very flawed proccess.

but yes the tool will (hopefully with version2 in a week or so) install the commcenter patch and the selected carrier bundle as well as set the spc to 0's all with a couple of clicks.
the version 1 will support iphone4 (any)ipad2 and iphone4s (verizon) the version 2 aprox a week later will support iphone 4,4s (any) ipad2,ipad3.

there will be a support thread on cdmagurus.com as well as the link for the tool its-self.

According to him, yes, it will be an all-in-one package that will help you set up everything right there and then.

havnt decided on price yet but will be 50 to 75 bucks.

one key will be good on the phone to reflash for life or until the meid is re-written and no longer matches the sn.
