    Motorola Triumph wifi repeatedly turns itself back on

    I posted this in the problems thread but no one answered so I'm trying here. Like many, I have my phone set up to connect with my home network. However, I cant seem to turn off wifi when I dont want it on to save battery. Pressing the button to shut off wifi works for about a second or 2, but then wifi turns right back on and starts searching for networks again. No matter what I do wifi won't stay turned off. If I put it in airplane mode wifi still stays on! It only eventually turns off when I click the checkmark again AFTER airplane mode has been enabled. This is my first Android phone but I can't believe this is standard operating procedure. Please tell me someone out there has this issue. It is incredibly strange that if this was a glitch or bug it would only be affecting 1 phone in the country.

    I wish I had an answer. I only have suggestions;

    Restore the phone to factory defaults.

    Go into settings, applications, ALL and choose any option that says "settings" (i think there are two running) or "wifi" and delete cache and data... and force stop them.

    There's a very slim possibility of a malicious app.

    Turn each wireless option on then off. That includes Bluetooth, wifi etc. with wifi being last.

    That's about all I can think of right now. I hope it helps.
