If you check the FCC site you will find that Foxconn makes it. The same people that make the Iphone. Huawei may of did some of the design work. But a lot of companys do this, have a look at this video so as long as Motorola backs it I am fine with it.

Foxconn, eh? That's the place that had to install netting around the exterior of their buildings because workers kept jumping out of windows.

Motorola's headquarters are in Illinois, about two hours from my house. Why can't we make this stuff in America anymore? Does everything have to be manufactured in third-world prison labor camps now?

    Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; U; Android 2.2.2; en-us; SPH-M910 Build/FROYO) AppleWebKit/533.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile Safari/533.1)

The phone would have a street price of $1000 if it was made here.

Next time just write that it was made by the same company that makes the Iphone and leave it at that. I don't want to know how that sausage is made. . . .

Yep, and those 16 hour work days are probably causing some of the build problems reported on the Triumph.

But on the positive side more Americans would have jobs. What's better, pay less for a phone and your neighbor is unemployed, or pay more and he has a job?

So that's why I can't get PDANET to work on this thing. ******* Chinese slave labor wanting breaks to eat and go to the bathroom and stuff. That time could have been spent testing my phone!

Probably not. Nobody would have money for $1000 phones, $200 jeans, etc. That's why hardly any large volume commercial products are made here anymore.

Of course you would, you would just buy less stuff. If the money keeps going to China, *that* is the case where America could literally run out of money. No chance of running out of money if it stays here. The trick is an embargo or tariff on chinese goods.

Nice subtle Motorola Triumph trolling there, comparing it with the Iphone4 and all.

I pesonally don't like the Optimus because it's name sounds like a name brand of deodorant for women. "TRIUMPH" sounds much better.

I think both names sound like cars (made in another country).

    Huawei - Design and engineering
Foxconn - Assembly (from components made by many suppliers)
Motorola - Distribution, service and support in the United States

In the examples cited, Foxconn is just assembling under contract devices that were engineered by others. If the device doesn't work well, Foxconn isn't the most likely culprit.
