Woah the Triumph smokes Droid X / Samsung Galaxy (Fascinate) etc. on benchmarks

This thing is getting dual core processor benchmark results. I thought I had gotten a phone from last fall's generation, but it looks like I got one from this past spring's generation!

Still can't get PDANET to work on this though, and it still keeps reinstalling the USB drivers every time I connect the phone to my computer.

Regardless, I am so glad to be rid of my intercept. That phone was such a slow/crap screen pos.

The phone is just a cheaper off brand inspire/thunderbolt. Its the postpaid carriers pushing outdated phones to people willing to pay $75+ per month.

No excuse how the postpaid carriers aren't filled with dual core powerhouses by now.

I'm also getting pretty good benchmarks. Better than the Nexus S.

    Sure isn't bad for a $200-$300 phone.

To the average idiot paying $75/month, "4G" is more important than dual core. Not that you can even get 4G service in 95% of the country...

There's likely a compromise to be drawn with regards to battery life and power consumption. I'm not familiar with the Tegras or other dual cores, but if the Triump is sucking up power like a Humvee on petrol, I'd be concerned with an even more powerful device

How do you figure it's getting dual core benchmarks?

According to Antutu Benchmark, Triumph is at the same level as other 1 ghz single cores, like evo 4g - 2600 score range

Evo 3D on the other hand came in at I believe 4800 stock (OC'd to 5700 by a friend of mine) - galaxy s2 is even higher.

The Triumph doesn't benchmark like a dual-core phone but it feels just as snappy and quick as one in everything but gaming which is probably because the Triumph is running stock android instead of having a manufacture overlay like TouchWiz or HTC Sense that can slow down the phone.. Cnet and PCWorld both say this phone feels like a dual-core when using it and I agree with them after playing with both the Triumph and HTC Sensation side by side.. This phone has really nice performance for being a single core phone IMO..

    Performance
If you didn't look up the specs, you would swear that the Triumph was a dual-core phone. This single-core 1GHz powerhouse is as fast as any of the recent dual-core devices we've seen, and it can jump in and out of various applications with ease. The Triumph was extremely responsive when I swiped through home screens and typed on the on-screen keyboard. The Triumph's fantastic performance might be the result of the absence of a custom overlay, though we haven't done any formal tests yet to be sure. - PCWolrd.com

The Triumph's 1GHz Snapdragon processor in combination with the phone's clean Android interface resulted in a very zippy navigation experience. Apps loaded very quickly and multitasking felt snappy. The Maps app launched instantly, as did the camera and browser. The Triumph is as quick as most dual-core phones we've tried. - Cnet

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? The triumph is a crappy little prepaid phone compared to the atrix 4g. If the triumph was as good as a Atrix then my intercept would be as good as the atrix.

Judging by this post you most likely haven't even used a Triumph. Anyone who thinks the Intercept and Triumph are in the same performance category loses all credibility in my eyes.. No ones saying its as good as a Atrix 4G but in certain areas the Triumph feels just as fast as a Dual-Core phone.. The Intercept barely feels faster than dumb phone and has to be one of the worst android phones to come out..

Just stick with your nazi/communist supporting postpaid carrier (AT&T) and stay on topic. The point is that the Triumph it's not a typical prepaid phone. It's actually a high-end phone. The SoC architecture of the phone makes it fast. Nothing prepaid about it except for the carrier itself.

The intercept is not the worst android phone . Its OK stock but great when you root it. Personally I think the
    Sanyo zio is the worst
