You can try, but I think only the original iPhone 2 was eligible for use on prepaid. Maybe someone else will post an update.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

The fist iPhone (released in 2007) was just called the iPhone, it only operated on 2G data networks. It wasn't called the iPhone 2 like I mentioned in my first response. I didn't mean to confuse the issue.

Yes, it doesn't even have to be unlocked. Any iPhone (3G and up) locked to AT&T will work with GoPhone service.

It should work, but AT&T can't really provide any troubleshooting if it doesn't. Prepaid customers are kinda on their own if they want to use a smartphone.

so an unlocked 2g will likely work on GoPhone??

i'm not going to bother to get 3g cuz even the used ones are pricey and its just for temporary use.

    thanks!
