    The Triumph will receive updates.

    Copy pasted from Motorola's response

    Re: Updates through this site?

Updates will not be hosted from this site, it will more than likely be done through the Motorola Software Update (MSU) page or done Over-The-Air (OTA).

There are currently no updates available for the Motorola TRIUMPH™.

The error message "Install package not found" is indicative of SD-to-Phone (through MSU) upgrades and updates instead of them being done OTA. This message is normal and does not indicate a problem with your device.

That's a relief... VM proved they couldn't handle an Android OTA update with the Intercept Froyo upgrade debacle.

Yeah big time. I think the phone companies should be the ones providing updates, not carriers. Waiting to be randomly pushed an update by VM was annoying, and the hundreds of "Why doesn't my phone let me update" posts were just as bad

    Wirelessly posted (Opera/9.80 (Android; Opera Mini/6.1.25577/25.692; U; en) Presto/2.5.25 Version/10.54)

I thought VM handled the OTA update just fine. It's amazing that a prepaid company even did that.

The update worked without a problem at all.... for me. I think the only people who had the problems were those who couldn't follow directions... and had almost zero room on their SD card.

Regardless of who does the update, it's nice to know that such an expensive and powerful phone will receive the official support that it deserves.

    thank you for the info.

We'll definitely end up with a rom for it. Especially now that clockwork works and it's getting an xda forum. Hopefully there will be an official one though

it's up to virgin mobile to release an official gb, and the chances of that happening are slim to none

You never know. The Intercept got froyo after a long time. The Optimus isn't as old as the Intercept was so it is a POSSIBILITY, emphasized to show that I'm not saying it's something I expect.
