No longer a separate SOC for tethering. Tethering is included into BBD8RA0DK

Is that yet another different code for BC? And would either the BB or Smartphone plan work for a phone that normally is eligible for UMB, ie. Nokia 5800, or E5, or any of the dumbphones?

So I can add it while it's available, but I haven't decided which smartphone to upgrade to yet.

Great! Did you need to quote them the Code?

Did you need to renew the voice plan for 3 years at the same time?

No, the CSR had read her notices that morning and knew about it. It took a bit while she confirmed the details but I didn't need to quote a code or anything.

I did have to renew my data contract for a 3 year term, but whatever - DECF is only $100 if I absolutely must change my mind later.

I should also add that it wreaked havoc with my retention data credits etc - had to shift to an in-market iPhone data value pack. I will fix it through retentions but I suppose they could give me some grief. Definitely something to keep in mind for those of you with crazy retention deals.

Ahh, so no voice contract extension required then?

No, data and voice are contracted differently.

I confirmed that my voice plan was not renewed (worth doing, because sometimes it happens when you don't know it).

It also doesn't affect HUP eligibility, apparently.
