Im just curious what one would need 150 to 300 mbits to a phone for.
I'm fairly sure mine connects at 54 despite having a Cisco n router 5 feet away as well.

Specs said it's 802.11n so I expected the phone to connect at 150Mbps or 300Mbps, but it doesn't ever connect at n speed, only at 54Mbps which is g speed. I tried on 2 routers, a Buffalo WZR-HP-300NH running DD-WRT and a Dlink DIR-655. My laptop always connects at 300 Mbps on both routers using WPA2-AES encryption.

No kidding, most peoples internet connection isn't more than 10M (or more likely 3M). If you've got a connection greater than 54M I assume you'd be using a PC, not a phone! I have a 19M/1M at home, but never above 5M/1M through WiFi.... and that's blazing compared to 3G at any time (typically .5M/.4M which I am very happy with).
It's probably connecting at the slowest possible rate to save power, then dynamically increasing when necessary. 802.11n's main benefit is that it takes advantage of reflections and breaks the data stream into multiple paths to improve range and performance.
The reason i'm looking for 300 Mbps is that i'm looking to transfer about 20 GB on it from my server and about 10 GB of video from the MT to the server. Guess i'll have to use my SD adapter and transfer the data through a PC. Not a big issue I was just trying to find out if i'm missing something. BTW, I was wrong in my original post, the phone connects at 65 Mbps not 54 Mbps.
@TCAT, my home connection is 50/20 and i work in a collocation facility where there's more b/w than i can ever use.
