My son has a Motorola Defy on T-Mobile and he just told me this afternoon that some text messages are slow in arriving. We seem to be in an area of good T-Mobile coverage. Is it worthwhile to try a new SIM card or should we try something else? Also, is this a common problem with T-Mobile and/or the Motorola Defy?

Usually stuff like this is related to the networks. Also if he has too many texts it can slow things down. The 4G PayDay sweepstakes might be slowing things up too.
