Samsung Mesmerize Text Messages/Calls Randomly stop working!?

I'm having a weird problem with my new Mesmerize (Which I love, btw).

Anyway, its seems like a few times every day, it randomly stops sending and receiving text messages and phone calls.

What happens is that when I go to create a new message and send it, it fails to send. When I try to text from another phone to my phone, it will not receive a text either.

Problem is, I just don't know when it starts doing this, but either rebooting the phone or putting it into airplane mode and bringing it back out fixes the problem. However, I never get any texts I sent to myself while this problem is happening.

What could be the problem!? Thanks so much!

Are you on EE19 update? If not, need to update the software. If you are up to date, have you installed any apps right before this started? You might have to do a hard reset. You can also try doing a hot battery pull, have the phone on, pull the battery out, leave out for 30 seconds, then reinstall and reboot.

I did not have the EE19 update. I was only on EE10. I didn't know I was so far behind until I started doing some searching around!

Anyway, I will give this a shot! Thanks for the pointer in the right direction! I really appreciate it.

EE19 should fix that issue... It was a known bug in EC10

My wifes mesmerize used to do that all the time. Since the EE19 update it has helped but it still does it once in a while, just not as bad.

Does anyone know what causes this?? Its pretty annoying!!

How often does it happen to your wifes phone Zoodski? I love this phone, my fav phone I've ever had, EXCEPT for this little problem.

Also, I've read that its best to take it in to a US Cellular Store to do the EE19 update....I did it myself, but wondering if I need to take it in sometime to have them apply it?

I have a question about the EE19 update....can I run the update with a EC10 Voodoo kernel? My assumption is that I can, but I just want to make sure...I can go back to stock if need be.

I'm on EE19 and I still have issues with missed calls and messages. I cant wait to switch phones when the new ones come out this fall.

Yes you can, but you need to disable lagfix BEFORE doing ANY update. If you go to the Facebook Mesmerize group, download that version of ee19, and install it. You will not lose any data if you follow the directions, and super easy to do.
