This simply isn't true. As a Moorehead sub agent I know first hand that if you request a location before corporate Moorehead requests it you will get the location. We requested our current 250 box/mo location 2 days before corporate Moorehead requested it and we got it. It was our first store under Moorehead. They could have very easily denied us or pushed us to another location but they didn't.
The only issue we've had with them is that Moorehead has denied us a Verizon approved location based on the fact they felt it was too close to one of their existing corporate locations.
Meh... Aren't most Moorehead locations small?
We were the #2 indirect store in our area the second month we opened with those 250 boxes (opened the store in Dec of 2010). We are extremely saturated and Verizon is not approving many, if any locations anywhere near us. My point though, was that Moorehead approved a great location in a tight market for a NEW sub agent that corporate Moorehead wanted, thus disproving what was said above.
I'd be curious to hear about payout under Moorehead. I'm a master agent now with VZW but Moorehead is big in my area. I don't particularly care for them but I'm curious to know how the pay is as a sub under them just for future reference.
Moorehead will approve your location, you will spend close to about $80,000 of your own money to purchase phones from Moorehead at MSRP prices, get your store up and running, and about 8 months later they will pull your codes without any notification...leaving you stuck with a contract and your inventory.
Stay far away from Moorehead. Plus Moorehead will hold your commission for over 180 days. They did it to me and right now they owe me over $4000 from commissions from June, July and August 2011 sales.
Problem with being under someone is you have no security, its tough being under the mercy of verizon wireless let alone a master agent who now also has control of your livelihood.
