only problem I could see as if someone else has already used that phone number for CL, like how when you get a new phone and number from VM or other pre -pay, for weeks or months after you get wrong calls/ txt.

Lol almost 4 months later and I still get calls and texts from people I dont know. I just tried CL and mine wont go through either!

I've been having to do the phone verification thing for a year now i think and my VM number always goes thru. Try the SMS function rather than a phone call. Or you can always get a Safelink phone and use it for that. That's what i do with all my SMS, phone number validations/accounts stuff cuz i don't want suprise charges on my VM account.

Also to Qe2 who said to get a free sprint phone and validate it and then return it under the 30 guarantee policy...make me lmao. Thanks for that.

Id wonder what 3 digit prefix those with problems are having, we get reg phone number 3 digit prefix that land lines have in this area.

If those with problem have a strange special prefix that isn't used by anyone else but pre paid cell.........

I've sold at least 5 different things on Craigslist, and received validation on my phone every time. Twice last week, and a few times in October or November. So maybe it's certain phones? Or maybe the area or something?

I think it's the amount of people that post in your particular city on CL and in certain areas of the site. But that's my guess.

I was wrong. Posted an ad yesterday and nothing. Posted another ad today and now I have to register my phone...again. I did this 2 weeks ago. Grr

I think you might be onto something there.
I use VM, Boost, and VZW prepaid phones with CL and they all have worked. Maybe it's an area code or area code/prefix combination that is causing them to fail @ validation. They can also fail if the account has been subjected to repeated flagging. They might want to try a new telephone number and new CL account combination to see if that resolves the problem.
