Hi-Keeba!!!
Def a US cellular phone - the fine print for the contest says US CEllular employees not eligible.
Plus there's this:
electify on US Cellular
This the only improvement in the Droid HD screen? Or is it higher resolution also. Or higher resolution and STILL pentile?? Find this pretty interesting that Moto really is going to finally move away from Pentile for a bit. Guessing they will go right back once PPI is up farther. I would really be curious to know how the decisions come full circle from one generation of device to the next. I doubt they really ever HAD to goto pentile just to be first to qHD and you would have thought they would have been able to predict the loudness of people like me and actual bloggers about such a move just after something like the Retina Display.

This is my next phone. Samoled on a Moto is my dream come true!

That thing is sexy. Hopefully the screen is better than bionic

Really Motorola? Really? This is the Bionic with a new screen.
This is what pisses me off about Moto.
qHD AMOLED NON-pentile, kevlar construction, splash proof, WAY thinner and probably the fastest OMAP available as it sounds like 4460 is getting delayed to early next year as TI is apparently having trouble clocking them that high at reasonable power levels per Archos. Quad core was never going to come until next year on a phone anyhow. On top of all that my impression of the permanent battery from the leaked pictures at the start of this thread was that it was bigger than Bionic. HD front facing camera. Seems like a pretty awesome phone so long as it's out before years end.
BTW, the HD screens on Samsung phones do out before the end of the year WILL be pentile so probably won't look any sharper than this non-pentile qHD and that fact may mean this screen actually looks nicer as Pentile seems capable of revealing odd anomalies even if at extreme ppi. If it is AMOLED though I would be curious who the supplier is as Samsung never did do qHD nonpentile AMOLED.
What else did anyone want? Pretty sure this is about all that could be done before the end of the year. Now much of it could have been done earlier probably, but we still don't have quad core or faster processors available. Not sure on memory packaging? Maybe we could have 2gb of memory at this point to better scale with Lapdock improvements and actually match netbook memory size. That may take an extra chip or something and complicate things though, not sure.
Actually there is a lot of word we will get 1.2ghz OMAP 4430 turbo in stuffs rather than 4460 as TI can't get scaled all the way to 4460 before years end. I am guessing Tegra 3 will be the must have processor once 4460 is out though. The 5th Low Power transister Cortex A9 in that thing is going to make it VERY power efficient when not being pushed hard. My guess is that OMAP 5 and 28nm dual core A15 will be faster than 40nm T3, but that probably won't show up until the second half of next year the way 28nm transition is going at most fabs right now. Basically turbo 1.2ghz OMAP 4 is as good as it will get until next year. 1.5ghz qualcomm doesn't excite me too much, but it will be fast. The fact it has no NEON just like Tegra 2 is the real issue. Tegra3 has NEON, but won't be in phones until next year.
I'm really loving the look of this phone. The bionic is a great phone, spent a little over 30 mins playing with one, but I just cant get past the screen to have it for 2 years.
Jasaero where are you getting all this info that Ti is having problems with the 4460?
One last thing, did anyone notice that the capacitive buttons don't look anything like any other moto phone out right now? I doubt it will be ICS but could it be a vanilla gingerbread phone? That could be why Verizon and Google are so excited about this phone because it is a true successor to the OG Droid minus the keyboard.
The only thing I'm not crazy about is the non removable battery

BTW, this could very well just be Samsung/Google having first dibs on the top bin 1.5ghz parts somehow until yields improve. Only thing making this unlikely is that Achos is a pretty small volume vendor so I would think they could get the numbers they need pretty easy if the yields were even reasonable on 1.5ghz parts.

It's thinner, no ****-*** Pentile, and it's splash -proof, while still having 4G LTE and a dual core processor. If its rugged like what the specs are suggesting ( Kevlar backing, water proof) I'd buy it over the bionic or even the Nexus phone, and I don't even like MOTOBLUR.
