I'm not sure what's up with Verizon not allowing 4G phones and 4G data on any of their prepaid plans.
You'd still have to pay for the phone at full retail, and the $30/month for the 2GB data. So why not on pre-paid?
The only one I can understand them not doing this on is the "Unleashed" $50 Unlimited Everything plan.

I think so, isn't that a phone from two years ago that was never marketed as stock Android? It was marketed as the first real Android phone and iPhone competitor.
And didn't the Galaxy S outsell it by a ton? Actually, the Droid X outsold it as well.
As for the demand, it will follow marketing. Verizon is putting a lot behind the RAZR, not so much behind the Nexus Galaxy.
Exactly...cuzz they know Soccer mom Susie doesn't give a crap about Stock Android. In fact, she prefers that Verizon tell her how to use the phone with Blur and what to use by pre-installing apps. Despite what we in the tech community may think, these people are not idiots. There is tons of market research done that determines the UI and everything else that comes standard with these phones. Believe me, if the research said differently, they'd shift the marketing $$ away from this phone and to Stock Android phones.
Anyone else find it very interesting that some of the best features of the manufacturer skins have been incorporated into ICS?? re-sizable widgets, dismissable notifications, objects moving out of the way when rearranging home screen, etc...
EDIT: They also added some of the best stuff that used to require root like screenshots and ability to "freeze" apps.
According Alain Mutricy, senior vice president portfolio and product management:
Mutricy highlighted that although the Motorola RAZR had been designed for, and will be launching on, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it has a plan in place to update the phone to Ice Cream Sandwich at the "start of 2012".

With about 2 months between the release of the Bionic and Razr, I'm a bit surprised the Bionic was even released.
First it had the whole delay Etna thing, so why not just cancel the Bionic all together since the Razr was so close?
I could understand releasing both if it would have been 6 months between them....but 2 months is like no time.
Now all the people that got the Bionic are going to get P-O'd that they just spent all this money on it, and now the new Razr is out 2 months later. I know I'd be mad if I spent a few hundred on one.
I hope the Razr takes better quality pics, as the Bionic's pics don't even look as good as the Droid X.
I'm certainly no expert, but as I understand it, since they made a public announcement of the "Droid Bionic" at CES I believe that they HAD to release a "Droid Bionic" within a certain time frame. Has something to do with some SEC, or other regulatory agency, rule meant to prevent manipulation of stock price by announcing vaporware products.
The Bionic is still going to be more popular among those who need long battery life and are away from an outlet. There's value in being able to swap batteries and to have an extended battery available.
Also, believe it or not, some people think phones can be too thin.
