Yeah I posted in the Droid 4 aka Droid HD, Maserati thread if the model number for the "Droid 4" is XT912

    Ok so to be clear....?
Droid HD release name (not Droid 4) = Model XT912 = Maserati code mane.
Model XT912 = Spyder code name (still not sure what release name is)
=> Read my reviews for the Samsung Droid Charge, HTC ThunderBolt, and Casio G'zOne Commando.

    => VX8000 at Disney World:Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4.

ya know, that's a good point - especially given fone sex reporting the rumor that the D4 might now take the HD name. hmmmmm.....

if i'm understanding Slaughtrr correctly, i think it's more like:

Model No. XT912 = D4 = codename Maserati = release name Droid HD
    Model No. XT910 = ?? = codename Spyder = release name Droid RAZR/???

edit: something that occurs to me... if the XT912 is the D4, and it's showing up in CelleBrite, could this be the LTE device that Jha was promising before the end of the year??!! up until now we've all been assuming it would be the Spyder, since that's the only device we had a whiff of. but, it would make sense that Moto would come out with a follow up to the D3 before a follow up to the Bionic, since the D3 has been out longer ("longer" being a very relative term these days).

i would be very disheartened if the Spyder got pushed back until after the first of the year.

I would be bummed too, then I'd just proceed to buy the Nexus Prime, or even the iPhone 5 if the screen is at least 4", and ice cream ends up disappointing .

Ok, done thinking outside the box for Googarola and I guess any other design peeps reading this.
The Bionic has the speaker on the back of the phone and you can barely hear the ringer when the phone is face-up on a table.

I am getting used to it, but it's a factor.

The Incredible has a great speaker on the back. It's loud, and it actually gets LOUDER when you set it down. It's because of the funky shape of the Incredible's backside: the part containing the speaker sits up off the surface, allowing the sound to escape. It's great for podcasts while cooking.

Wish more Android phones were like this. Like wnrussell said, it is a factor.

Yeah, OG droids only loudspeaker is on the back also. Probably most smartphones tend to have loudspeakers that are on the back or maybe port out the sides.

According to Droid-Life, the Droid HD is now on Verizon's Device Manager.

Does this mean we'll be seeing the slider version first?

are you still excited about the Spyder? any insight you can give us?? i'm hopeful that someone can shed some light on this debate between the model numbers XT910 and XT912 - which is which, the Spyder, the D4, etc??

it's hard telling, since we haven't heard much on the D4 and don't know if XT912 is the model number for the D4, or whether it's an updated model number for the Spyder. i'm still hoping that the Spyder comes out before the D4/Maserati.

    The model number I posted:
    • Spyder - XT910

Was pulled directly from the "about phone" area under settings from the device so unless Moto intentionally switched the model numbers then they are correct.

The mix-up could be in release name becasue remember, for the longest time we all thought the Spyder was the Droid HD until Sussero said differently. Regardless of what the release names for each phone will be, I've seen firsthand that the Spyder is XT910.

sorry, i didn't realize you had looked and confirmed the model number for the Maserati...

dang, i was afraid of that. Jha indicated only one other LTE device would be out before the end of the year, and it's looking more like that device will be the Maserati, and not the Spyder. of course, that doesn't mean the Spyder won't also release around the holidays, but i'm starting to have my doubts. i don't know if i can hold out until after the first of the year (or longer) for the Spyder. i may end up with the Nexus.

    thanks for the info, tho!

Barring any major setbacks, Spyder will be out by end of year
