How is everyone feeling about RAZR Blur now that ICS has been demoed???? I could care less about Blur. Big moto FAIL for not getting us a RAZR Nexus.

You people are high if you think all the development for ics is gonna go to waste. Im betting you will see all high end android phones released in the last year sporting ics by the second half of next year. Oh, and motorola devices have a track record of receiving os updates before most other oems, nexus devices aside.

Well if Moto plans to keep all the NONSENSE they now have hard built at pretty low levels into 2.X android on 4.X android it's going to take them A WHILE to make that happen. I thought it might be a pretty easy thing, but ICS seems like a more major upgrade than I was anticipating.

Oh and the 4.65" thin bezel 720p SAMOLED, instant samsung picture shooter with 5MP and promised new best low light handling is just icing on the ice cream sandwich even though I woulda liked the Stainless steel and Kevlar build.

Only concern is that networks were TBD other than Japan's NTTDOCOMO. We all know VZW at least WAS the plan for the USA though and all the bold claims on LTE seem validate that, SOMETHING has obviously took a turn south between these three behind the scenes. VZW is going to get KILLED by those of use want this if they try and block it though.

Can someone please explain to this noob why I should really give a damn about ICS? What is so awful and behind the times about GB, and who will it matter to?

Give me good call quality and decent browsing speeds and I'm a pretty happy camper. And if I can tether my iPad to it, the apps on my phone aren't a big deal unless I'm sitting outside a Victorias Secret changing room waiting for my wife with nothing but my phone. So... please edumacate me on what I'm missing here (or point me to a link which I've been unable to find yet). TIA.

edit - (I was interested in the Prime, but I think I'd prefer the thin (and flat) form factor of the Razr.)

What are you missing? Just an OS update. Some updates bring more features than others. This one reminds me of Froyo. Enough features to make it a big deal. GB IMO wasnt that big of a deal, just better performance and smoother UI to me. The updated cut n paste was nice tho. I cant if anything else that made GB a must have.

One of my favorite features of ICS

starting with Android 4.0, users can uninstall any application they like, such as the native browser or email client —and that seems to go for carrier software as well.

I think this is probably the biggest Android update to date from a user perspective. I think it's also pretty big from developer perspective and under the hood perspective. Basically easily the most extensive Android overhaul pretty handily.

Everything has been hardware accelerated, Java get better dual core optimization which will speed up MOST apps, and basically everything in the UI is more or less totally revamped with most all the features the manufacturer and aftermarket skins had added ontop, but in a more fluid, complete, and consistent way. Additions of data use optimization's that are also the primary means of saving battery on these devices. And the google apps are all much better now, particularly camera and gallery. I'm really grasping for straws as to what the manufacturers do now outside of aesthetic changes that wouldn't just degrade the experience. The only thing I think they missed are the radio and feature toggles in the notification pull down like TouchWiz and CyanogenMod have.

Anyone willing to stick to Moto for RAZR despite lack of ICS needs to at least demand EXTREMELY speedy ICS update, pure and simple.

HTC and Samsung have skinned honeycomb, so skins will still be around. However I'd doubt that we'll see devices skinned as heavily as froyo and gingerbread were. Most likely the skin will come down to a few widgets here and there (Touch wiz and sense is barely noticeable on honeycomb.)

And the one thing I didn't hear anything about is how updates will be handled.

Here's some more pics and a few vids of the Droid Razr:
    http://www.phonearena.com/news/Motor...nds-on_id23072

I still have my RAZR2 V9m flip-phone, though it hasn't been used in about a year when I got the LG Clout from _KC_. I think the resurrection of the "RAZR" name is a good marketing strategy for Motorola, as well as pointing out the difference between it and the Bionic and iPhone 4S, such as the AMOLED screen, processor, battery, and the kevlar construction. But still, with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it's going to be a tough choice between the two.

Also, am I the only one that doesn't care for the placement of the ports on the Droid Razr? Say your battery it low, and you want to use the browser or make a call, you have to connect the wall charger microUSB cable to the TOP of the phone. So now your talking on it, with the cord coming out of the top -or- using the web, and the cord is sticking into your left hand?

In my opinion, they should of left the two ports on the side of the phone.

    Yes I agree.

But I also HATE where the charging port is on the HTC Thunderbolt because you can't use the kickstand while it's plugged in.

On the other hand if you are texting and using the phone I rather have it coming out the top instead of the bottom where it can get hit with your hands and loosen up the plug...

I dont like them on the top either.. I assume that the sides or bottom wasn't a great option because the thinness of the phone. But I can see many broken charging ports or USB tips from talking while charging, especially with the bungee cords that are used with car chargers.

My phone is in a side pocket in my Carharts most of the time. Drywall and other dust going in to the ports is probably the deal breaker for me. I also understand why they are there but, it just shows how everyones situation and needs are different. Yes, I could put it in upsidedown. However, the slight bulge at the top of the X and Bionic act as a finqer hold/grip.

OK, I had the very first RAZR on AT&Tingular (back when it was Cingular, the one that costs $499--I didn't pay that much, maybe $3 for it through one of those websites). I had the RAZR-2 on Verizon. I have the Droid 2 on Verizon now. Now if Verizon would let prepaid customers get a 4G phone, i'm definitely getting one of these. World class machine!

VZW 4g LTE. Super fast. It's way faster than my wifi.
