Just got off the phone with Nokias customer support and i was told its still under development fir NAM Nokias. They did not know when it will be released for us either:-(

A few weeks ago when I emailed nokia they said it's because their servers were down. How crazy is that. I can't beleive that actually said that.

Because it was down lol I couldn't download the euro firmware until it came back on

I'd recommend everyone to flash to Belle it's such a huge difference it feels like a brand new phone.

Depends on what functionality you need. Sure Java doesn't work, but I don't use Java on my N8.

My phone is a Rogers branded device running PR1.1 and I may pass on the updates because I enjoy the camera and recording hacks. No beep phone call recording is sweet.

this wait for Anna is pathetic...I can't believe alot of people are already flashing Belle and the official US release for Anna hasn't been put out. What kind of idiot makes these decisions for Nokia.

Nokia's reps on their support forums keep making statements about, "waiting for carrier approval".
I really don't like the sound of that on an "unlocked" phone. We paid extra to avoid carrier restrictions.

I'm not seeing any more Nokia phones after my N8. It is a pity what Nokia has done to itself.

agreed my friend...what a pity.

I'm going to start reading about the whole 'flashing' thing...i was trying to be patient and wait for the official release but I think i've been patient enough...this is just ...well...pathetic to the fullest extent of the word.

Maybe by the time I finish reading up on the firmware flashing and install Belle on my N8 i'll still want to get an e7. People swear up and down about Belle being great.

I don't know, maybe I'm just conspiracy theorizing, but could the larger strategy be to actively discourage Symbian device sales in the U.S, by not providing support?

Taking an opposing stance, then that's also a really great way to kill your brand-value in a market where you would want to build it up.
