for FREE! root your device then download the sgs2 unlock app from droid market it's confirmed it work because, i did it on my virgin sgs2.

    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1056334 rooting sgs2

    https://market.android.com/details?i...=search_result (only do after rooting)

Works 100% done it on 2 virgin mobile sgs2. It's very easy don't waste your money...

I tried that once with the virgin Sim card in the phone and once with my Rogers sim card in the phone.
Both tries didn’t work. It says “Could not find Sim Unlock code
Do I need to be connected to the internet for that program to work?
I assume if I have “The yellow triangle on the boot up screen I am rooted?”
    Thanks
    M.O.

    Doubt

If I use the two links and unlock the phone, can it be used in India?

You can unlock for just for $9.89. To unlock the device you need a unlock code. This code will remove SIM lock on your Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. To get the code, you have to contact with phone carrier's support. You need to provide s2 skyrocket’s IMEI number.

-> Switch on the phone with unregistered sim.
-> Enter the unlock code when prompted.

That's it your phone will now be unlocked.
