Mobilicity vs Wind-Point me in the right direction

Ok, so I keep flip flopping, I have come to the decision that if I go with Mobilicity I will be getting the unlimited $25 plan and adding voicemail (because it is a must have). This will cost me $33 a month. Or I can go to wind and spend $29 a month for the exact same thing.

$4 a month is not a big issue (although its still about $50 over the year). But back on topic, I am very interested in either the Panache or the Nexus from Mobilicity because of the sale. I worry about purchasing the phone and taking it to wind and if I have issues with my phone, the warranty will be hard to fulfill.

Someone needs to point me in the right direction here and maybe tell me what is the better option.

From what I have read (maybe I am wrong) Wind seems to have slightly better data service and coverage over the Ottawa area.

Thank you and I hope someone can help me make my decision, because I am terrible at making them, especially when it comes to phone providers .

Assuming coverage is OK, Mobilicity is the cheaper option, since what Wind doesn't tell you
is that that $29 goes up to $45 at the end of a year. Whereas, the mobilicity plan,
    stays forever.

    What he just said.

Indeed, it's a $48/year difference during year one. In year two, when your WIND plan goes to $45, it's now a $144 difference in favour of Mobi. And that's for the rest of your life. Don't think that's worth it.

Why $33? You sign up for $25+ the call control addon $5. Then use freephoneline.ca for voice mail. So mobi+voicemail+callforward/conference etc = $30

Difference: $12 int he first year with wind.

Coverage could be an issue with Mobi depending on where you live and plan on using it in Ottawa area.
Check coverage mapper for actual coverage.

If your worried about the phone just get the nexus s. It's already unlocked so you can jump around from Wind to Mobilicity to Rogers and to Fido. If you pre pay for a year on the $25 and add on the voicemail it'll be cheaper than Wind. The question now is can you front the money all in one go. If you can... GREAT!! You saved a bit of money. If you can't then your out of luck.

Also unlike Wind that caps there promo you can keep the plan FOREVER. There's no 1 year or 6 months crap. Dave doesn't like getting his hand sticky in those 4 font letters.

    One year wind plan

True points, but I will be travelling overseas for a year next year, so I will only be in Ottawa for the next year. So that part of winds deal is not a big deal.

Mobilicity is by far the best option.

UNLESS, the reception in your area is crappy. Then give Wind a spin.

It's ridiculous to add VOIP to a plan just to get Voice Mail that should be there in the first place as this is a common tactic Incumbents use by omitting it or CI, if VM is important than go with Wind instead-obviously the better deal.

My opinion, being completely honest, is Mobilicity right now because the deals are forever and the deals are good, The $25 and the eveything $40. If you need the extended coverage that Wind provides then Wind is slightly more expensive in the long run but would fit you better.

However, if Wind did match the deals or even made their $29 for life, I'd pick them for being more futureproof and expansion plans.

Try Mobilicity for their cheap plans. If it doesn't work, its all sorted out for you then. And buy Nexus if you are flip flopping. It comes unlocked.

Mobilicity has a more reliable network. (there I said it)
But WIND has more than triple the towers.
Mobilicity in weak signal areas will perform normally (if you have a signal)
WIND ... will be slow and on the phone the person receiving your voice will tell you, "you sound terrible.".
Check the coverage mapper map for the coverage in your area: http://www.coveragemapper.com/map.php?mccmnc=302490

To change provider: select mobilicity from the drop down list.

Wind acts more like the big 3. Choose who you want to do business with.

No one seems to have mapped Brampton for Mobilicity on Coverage Mapper. Cell mapper is more accurate for Mobilicity. Neither maps are perfectly accurate though I'm sure the coverage is a bit bigger than tracked.

A self quote from just a few days ago (I hope Ottawa is similar)...

Of course these are only places I've been to (mainly restricted to North York and downtown). Recently, my friend near North York Centre signed up with with the new Windtab and he didn't get signal in his room or basement. In his basement not even bell/telus got signal. Only Rogers and Mobilicity got signal in both places. You may very likely find places where Wind gets signal and Mobilicity doesn't as well.
Mobilicity's $25 deal is way better than $29 at WIND because it is lifetime. I've been reading around that after the year they put you on the $45 plan and switching restarts the Windtab from 0 on the phone purchased and it costs $20 to switch plans... WIND is sounding more and more like the Big 3.
