I just updated my wifes phone through odin and it failed. So after unplugging the phone and putting the battery back in I powered it back up. Samsung appeared on the screen then it went into recovery and formatted some stuff. It rebooted and it stayed at Samsung on screen for several minutes. Then it started up and everything was just like factory new. It did update to gingerbread even though it said it failed. It now shows version 2.3.4 and icons at top of screen are like mine on my desire running gingerbread.
Hopefully this update finally fixes her missed call issues like EE19 was supposed to fix.
Question for any Mesmorize users...my co-worker has a Mes, and just recently upgraded to Froyo. He says that after the update, everything is very laggy, like just swiping the home screens from one to another takes several swipes...or just pressing the menu "button" either within an app or from the main home screen doesn't bring up the menu. He showed me as he kept pressing the menu button, but nothing was coming up. He said everything was fast and smooth before the update. Anyone else experience this lagginess?
I installed home switcher than launcherpro. It replaces the stock samsung interface and is much gaster, no lag. Plus the paid for version has some cool widgets.
I griped a while back about signal issues with my mes since the Froyo update...USCC sent an engineer out and the tech told me that they felt the Mes wasn't the best phone for my area and basically deal with it or get a different phone...I have to say, since the Gingerbread update, my reception has improved greatly. The only issue I see now is that it seems to be sucking the power faster, but I can live with that as long as I'm not dropping calls...
Anyone else notice any differences along these lines?
My in-call volume seems to be lower than it used to be. I turn the volume up as high as it will go but seems to still be quite low. Has anyone else noticed this since the Gingerbread update?
The people on the Mesmerized Facebook page are complaining about that problem...i don't seem to notice any difference. Some people said that after doing the update a factory wipe fixed the issue.
My phone gets MUCH better reception after Gingerbread update! At my work place I was getting 1 to maybe 2 bars and I was missing some calls on Froyo, but now I have 3-4 bars all the time. Same thing with some places I was at yesterday where before I couldn't use my phone, now I have 2-3 bars.
My in call volume is TOO loud. I can turn it all the way down and it still sounds like someone is yelling. I have to pull my phone down a little to partially cover the speaker sometimes, but its not too big of a deal.
Also, I was having a lot of issues with my phone bluetooth in my vehicle with Ford Sync. Those are all gone now! Thanks US Cell!
My main complaint is the battery life is still HORRIBLE. I guess thats to be expected with such a tiny battery on a big phone. It would be like a 18 wheeler having a 20 gallon fuel tank.
