    Student Unlimited Plan?

Is the Student Unlimited Plan good? Does it come with province wide calling or better? Would I be charged long distance for calling from toronto to Waterloo? Would you choose this or the $29 unlimited plan with $10 Canada wide calling add-on for a Waterloo student?

It doesn't come with Call Display (Additional $8 per month). Long Distance is not included. Calling from Toronto to Waterloo is long distance at 40c per minute in addition to airtime.

It better be good if it's more unlimited than unlimited.
    Rogers:
    Unlimited Canada-wide calling, 2500 sent SMS - $35; 6GB Data - $30 less $10; Call Fwd/xfr - N/C; Local UMA - N/C; Value Pak - $10

    Moblicity:
    $23 BTS

I really don't understand how a simple basic piece of technology such as the call display can cost $8... 0_o.

I don't understand how they can possibly call it an "UNLIMITED" plan and use that word in all their advertising when it only comes with 200 local minutes and doesn't even include data.

I didn't care until my middle-aged father brought home a flyer with one of these plans actually convinced that something about the plan was even remotely unlimited, and it took me forever to explain to him that it was just about as opposite from that word as you can possibly get (short of being on a prepaid plan that doesn't include any minutes). He kept asking me, "Well then why does it say 'UNLIMITED' all over the ad?" He refused to believe that a company could outright lie to customers without being called out by some sort of regulatory body.

Now I find the whole practice/scam/marketing disgusting and offensive.

What's interesting from the network perspective is that Rogers has to actively disable call display for people who don't pay for it. Call Display isn't really a feature (it's enabled by default). The real feature is the ability to disable it!

...u c, this is why I'm so itchy to ask a lawyer, is false advert and is good cause for a lawsuit, is not really unlimited but "Rogers unlimited" two very DIFFERENT concepts....lucky for them this is Canada and not the US...then again, this is Toronto and everything is so "Americanized"....

    +1!!!!!

Everytime I see the ad I question how they could advertise unlimited just because everything other than daytime minutes data is unlimited. Why doesn't the government put an end to this type of advertising, it's unfair to people that don't have the same knowledge as we do.

Customer: So I'll have unlimited talk right?
Rep: No but you get unlimited after 7pm, unlimited social networking,......
Customer: Then why does it say 200 daytime minutes?
Rep: But you get unlimited after 7pm, unlimited social networking,......

However I can see why Rogers does this.
When people ask about my Mobilicity plan, I saw unlimited talk, text, and data to which they ask how many daytime minutes are included or how much data do you actually have?
People are so brainwashed that they don't beleive the word unlimited anymore and I don't blame them. I still remember that when Rogers offered unlimited text, wasn't it actually limited to 2500 text's?
