    Angry LG900g Music player?

Hey guys I have a LG900g Net10 phone. Uh my MP3 player isn't playing songs fully and its starting to annoy me.. I put the songs on a SD card and then put it in the phone. Is it normal for the MP3 player on the LG900g to not play songs fully? >__< Feedback is appreciated. I tried playing the MP3 file on my computer and my phone at the same time and Windows Media Player plays the full song but my phone doesnt, so it's not the MP3 file. By the way its more than just 1 song.

When I had the 900g I had no problems with the music player - other than taking several minutes to start up, but the songs would play out OK. All my MP3s were encoded at 128kbps.

But didn't you notice songs stopping short?
Like in my phone it says that the song "Ghosts N Stuff" is 4:28 when in reality its 4:36
and in some songs it stops at like the 4 min mark while the actual song is 6 min

I don't have an LG900g but I do know this: If it's always the same songs stopping then there's something about the way the songs are encoded that your phone doesn't like. I have several devices that can play MP3s and it's not uncommon for one of those devices to choke on a song that the computer has no problem playing all the way through. Computer MP3 players are much more tolerant than portables when it comes to songs that might have problems in the encoding. The solution, I've found, is to re-convert the song to MP3 again with a program that I know works well with those devices, like CDex or maybe Foobar 2000 (and yes, I know you lose quality this way; sometimes it just can't be helped). That usually makes the problem go away.

If it's random, different songs stopping at different points but playing just fine on the next try, then I'd be more inclined to believe it's the player that's defective. Another possibility is a bad SD card. It might be worth re-formatting and reloading or trying a different one.

    Just my two cents worth...

Ive heard somewhere that the LG900g can only play songs that are under 200kbps so if its like 360kbps I can't play it.. is that true?
For those noobies, the 200kbps does NOT refer to the file size, it referrs to beats per second

I haven't had any problems with mine playing... even 1 hour long podcasts that are over 60mb file size...

The file handling system, on the other hand... grrrr.... I think it took a cue from my old Palm Centro...

My sister and I both have this phone. Mine doesn't do this, but hers does it all the time. Just cuts off the end of the song. She has more music than I do, I don't know if this is a factor.

I got this same bundle from Walmart in February for $29.99. The price hasn't changed much. It's a stereo headset and the microSD card is LG branded.
