Swapping my Iphone 3g for Verizon HTC Incredible...what are my service options?

So I have an old Iphone 3g just sitting around not doing anything, but I'll be trading that straight across for an HTC Verizon Incredile tonight.

I'm wanting to know what my service options are for this phone? Am I stuck using Verizon, or are their other options available via rooting/flashing?

I am trying to break away from Verizon myself. With 5 smartphones the bill is about 355 including taxes and charges.
Looking at Boost mobile each line starts at 50 and after a year of on time payments - reduced to 35/smartphone. Only problem is the phone choices are not the best. 175/month from 355/month big difference but I like my incredible 2.
What phones can you use with boost or straight talk? Can I take my incredible 2 to those services?
Any help would be appreciated.
