Just got the .902 update on the Bionic. So you might want to double-check.
I found this thread, has a file (in post #2) that updates from .893 to .902
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1455888

Once the .902 OTA gets done installing (in a few minutes) I'll have to see if Root is lost or if Root can be re-enabled.

So the .902 OTA got done installing, but it did loose Root in the process.
I've tried to Root it, as I did in this thread, but now it doesn't work:
    http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...3#post14675533

I also tried the Tehsusenoh all-in-one zip file, but it doesn't work either.

So has anyone been able to root the .902 update?

I've tried to re-enable root using the same command lines that worked the last time, but it stops here:
    shell@cdma_targa:/data/local$ ./zerg
    ./zerg

FAUguy I just got the notice on my phone and am downloading the zip file. I will let you know how it goes.
Should I presume someone on XDA will be able to reroot the phone within a few days?
I just finished with the update. I see a few new apps. I still have root access as verified by root checker. Clocksync works, but due to the unorthodox way I rooted the phone, I cannot update the su binaries.

I got the update notification on wifi-only (not "activated"). I downloaded and installed the .902 update, and I still have root. I'd installed the foreverroot, and it's maintained throughout this latest update.

So after using the .902 software for a few days, the Bionic hasn't "flipped-flopped" between 4G & 3G like it usually does. I'm glad the new radio version fixed this, just wish it was like this when the phone was released months ago! On a side note, the Galaxy Nexus sitting next to it can't keep 4G to save it's life and is stuck in 3G 95% of the time.

I have had more stability for 4G reception. I agree this would bave been welcome on release day. What is tge next OTA?! Another maintanance level, 2.3.6 or 4.0.x?

At this point, I would think this would be the end of the Gingerbread updates, with the next one being ICS (if it happens at all).

I look forward to it. Although I may try an ICS ROM if it takes too long to roll out.

My question is if the new update that's currently rolling out fir the Razr/Razr Maxx fixes the 4G/3G issue with it, as it also has the same cycling issue that had been on the Bionic until the 902 update.

So before I get a Bionic, can someone tell me if it is getting Android OS 4.0x or not? I do not want to use any Android below 4.x.x

    thanks,

I was on the Bionic trail and now have a Galaxy Nexus. You may want to look at one. I have no regrets. Good Luck.

If you get a Bionic, you can root it and flash ICS ROMs.

I messed some stuff up on my bionic when i was trying to update to 902 and it soft-bricked into a bootloop at the end of the install. had to 902 fxz in fastboot to get it to stop. lost everything but i was able to root the phone.
then i installed titanium backup and restored my backups that i luckily had updated this morning. so i ended up only losing 4/5 of my home screen layouts all things considered. and now my 4G is working a lot better so i'll take it.

Got the Bionic for free today and was able to stay on my Unlimited Data plan for 29.99 p/m. will be here tomorrow.

I plan to root it, but wonder if I need to activate it and make sure it is updated first or not.

Also will the 16gb micro sd card from my BB storm 2, work in the bionic? will i need to format it or will my music and photos still be accessible?

    thanks for the help,
