No, haven't looked into the Droid 4 way to root, but I guess its worth a try. I know the Droid 3 root process will not work on the Bionic with 902.
If you look at KBs post, the Bionic needs to be permaroot in 893 first, as well as modifying a couple other files before updating to 902.
Since I wasn't aware of this, the only way I can get root is to reflash the phone with 893 and do the above steps.
Its a bit more than I have time for, so I may wait a bit to see if any hackers can get 902 to be rooted on its own. If they can't, then I'll do the steps that KB listed.
Actually, when i made that post the D4 root method had not been made public yet by djrbliss. The new exploit does work on Bionic .902 release and many other Motorola devices as well.
It is absolutely brilliant work by an invaluable contributor to the Motorola development community.

Since the Bionic has been rooted, I also downloaded an app from the Android Market called OTA RootKeeper that makes a root backup on the phone. It is supposed to restore root if it is lost after an OTA update. Have you had any experience using it? Which perma-root method do you recommend?
Thank you and im sorry i missed that.I dont know enough about this to revert back to 893 and then go thru all of the steps to get me back to 902.I know im taking the chance of bricking my phone but thats the risk im willing to take.

Well, the question you should ask is "do I need root?"
If you're just doing it for no reason but to try and see if it works, then there is no reason to do it.
But if you need root for other programs, such as Titanium Backup or AdFree, then ok.
As long as you don't go around removing or overwriting system files on the phone, or installing custom ROMS, then you probably won't have to worry about bricking your phone.
I juat want to get rid of some unneeded bloatware and there are some apps that i want that needs root and thats about it.I tune duramaxs from my laptop but i cant get a grasp on how to do all of this or i dont understand all of it but my 16 year old son jailbreaks his iphone all the time so im gonna get him to help me.
