Edit by FAUguy:
With the new Bionic firmware 5.9.902, a Razr/Razr Maxx, or a Droid 4, you can Root it by using the software here:

Yes I would want to know if there is a one-clock rooting, without a USB connection?
Please use this dedicated thread (not the release thread) to talk about rooting the Droid Bionic.
=> Read my reviews for the Samsung Droid Charge, HTC ThunderBolt, and Casio G'zOne Commando.

Follow these instructions.
Thank you!
I think this may be the newer version of 1-click:

Whoops...looks like I have been elected!
I will writeup the manual method I used but, as already posted, the one clicks for D3 work well.
So now that it was so easy to Root (took 5 minutes), how about overclocking the Bionic?
On the Droid X, I used a program called "DX/D2 Overclocker" but not sure if it will work here.
Edit: I just tried that ovcerclocking app, and it says "You aren't on a DX or X2. What are you doing here?"
[QUOTE=FAUguy;14538087]Wow, that was quick and easy to do
Not for me. I tried the one above method( http://www.psouza4.com/Droid3/)
and it would not root my phone. I did get the temporary adb root to take, then reclicked on the one root button. That seem to work as I se the SU app.
Will setCPU work for the Bionic?
What else will root allow me to do with no additional apps?
I just tried the CPU Master Free by AnTuTu and it will not go past the 1GHz max.
SetCPU is $1.99 and does not have a refund policy, so can't just download and try it.
Guys just have little patience...all these things will come. We need to rewrite all of those things to work on this phone. Recovery will be key and allow many other options safely.
Right now, without firmware, root is very dangerous. Please proceed cautiously until we have a full recovery solution.
I was not criticizing anyone, just relaying my experience. besides, I have never before rooted a phone the first day I bought it.
setCPU works for me after rooting, but I cannot exceed 1 GHz or below 300 MHz.
I agree on the need for caution, seeing as I got use to clockwork recovery.
Need help on how to Root/Superuser access on Motorola Droid
